The Eve "Trade Me Up initiative" has kicked off today

Today I'd like to introduce the "The trade me up initiative/experiment".

I got this idea from a bunch of kids that rang my doorbell earlier today. They started out with a paperclip and wanted to see what they could get by the end of the day.Appearantly they started at my house and wanted to trade a paperclip for something else. So I gave them a pretty nice pen.
That's when I got the idea to try and do this on Eve as well. I'd love to see what the eve community is able to do so I set up a character especially for that.

I plan on starting out with a Rookie ship and I'm curious to see what we will get eventually. I will set myself up in Jita for now and might move across tradehubs (if this is possible, since this will be a new character and she won't be able to fly anything). If I move, I'll pay for the move myself.

FAQ (and kind of tl;dr):
Q: How can I contact you?
A: Character name is: Trademe Up and the channel name is: Trade Me Up Community

Q: What is 'trade me up' ?
A: Well, I will start out with nothing but a rookie ship. I want to see how far we can go from the bottom on up.

Q: What do you get out of this?
A: Well, as the word 'trade' implies, if you trade me something worth (even 1 ISK) more than what I have now, I will trade you what I have now in return. So you still get something out of the trade.

Q: What do I (the trade me up char) get out of this?
A: This is for fun's sake. I want to see what the EVE community can do if we just start out with a rookie ship.

Q: Where did you get this idea?
A: Well, some school kids rang at my door earlier and I thought this would be fun to apply to EVE.

Made a twitter account for this too, where I shall tweet the trades.

I still wonder how people think this is a scam. It's done through trading items. For what I know, trading clearly depicts the itemname. And you still choose the item you're trading yourself.

If it was based on contracts, then it could be looking like a scam. But don't know why you'd look at this as a scam.

The idea is interesting. HOWEVER, what happens if someone trades you a super-capital for the rookie ship...or better yet, trades you sovereignty to a fully-developed system? I guess my dessy in trade would sort of PALE by comparison.

EDIT: Oh yes. Any time you offer something less in trade for something more, in EVE that's defined as - (wait for it)

Nice reasoning. Well I started out with the idea thinking that people might up the current item and trade one that's a bit more expensive but not that much. I don't think that anyone would trade a super-capital for a rookie ship ;).
And currently, we're far removed from a super-cap ;).

What if we added some extra stuff? Like only do the trade up once per day? Maybe limit the trades?
