Strip Fitting / Fit to active ship bug

On my nighthawk I did Strip Fitting to use some of the mods for my rattlesnake (hardners, BCS mainly) for a certain mission

A couple of days later I decided to use my nighthawk again, so I selected the items in my inventory and clicked "Fit to active ship"

After doing this I noticed that my 5 Heavy Missile launcher II's and 2 720mm artillery II's were still in their respective groups (group of 5 launchers, group of 2 720's) and thought to my self, well that is convenient.

After finishing fitting the rest of my ship and un-docking, my missiles and artillery were nowhere to found on my HUD. They would not show up and pressing non of the shortcuts would activate them. When I moved some mods around on my HUD to different slots the weapons would briefly show up as a greyed-out icon similar to when a module is offlined but would then disappear again.

I re-docked and the fitting window would not let me interact with them at all, I could not unload the ammo or remove the mods from my ship, clicking or right-clicking did nothing. I finally had to click strip fitting and re-fit my ship one mod at a time, which seemed to clear the groups and everything worked as normal again.

I just tried to reproduced this bug, to no avail. But several days went by between me stripping the fit and trying to refit again, switching ships/docking/warping/jumping/completing missions might all have something to do with it as well.

Anyone else run in to this problem?
