Hello People,
i'm trying to fit relatively cheap CNR. The fits differ in AB and MJD. Any suggestions are welcome.

The strange thing is that on paper CNR deals same amount of DMG as my standart Raven. So i'm in doubt should i even fit CNR.

Thanks in advance, cheers !

You are spending close to 600mil isk for the hull alone, so the least you can do is try to T2 your rigs.

I will do that, no problem.

- don't fit ASB on your mission ship, the tank looks really cool but the reload is going to get you killed and the cost of running it is unnecessarily high

- you can't fit 3 T2 rigors, fit 2 T2 rigors and 1 T2 flare

- don't omnitank your ship, you might save 10 seconds per mission to not have to swap resists but your tank suffers greatly for it resulting in you having to be careful costing WAY more time than those initial 10 seconds

- don't go MJD only, I realise that it sounds like cool to jump around and being far away from stuff will lower the need for tank but you're actually wasting time that way. Fit AB, a CNR is pretty fast tbh and it'll work a lot better

- with those rigs there's zero need for painters. Also if your plan is to snipe from range using your MJD; painters have trouble working outside 40km so you can never tell how many volleys you'll need to kill something, which WILL mess up your timing when being at long range, costing you time

Have a look here, if you'd use faction BCS you can swap the co-pro for a backup array.

Yes, on paper CNR and normal Raven both have 8 effective launchers, so they'll do the same paper dps. Navy raven's advantage is in its tank and application bonus.

CNR has more Alpha, and better damage application by nature. Properly fit u alpha standard cruisers and 2 shot (max 3) elite cruisers in missions.

i linked it before thats how i run its an ultra tight fit.

Personally i use 3 BCU and 2 drone damage amps and let the drones take care of the small stuff

Yes Nick, the CNR and Raven (along with the Navy Scorp and Golem) can have the same dps (if fitted similar). However, their volleys are much different. My Raven does 984 dps with 6060 volley, my CNR does 984 dps with 8080 volley. (T2 launchers, fury, 4 Caldari BCUs, and implants) Some guys get even more.

Question: You're trying to go cheap with your fit, but then why do you use T2 rigs? Caldari BCUs go for about 100m, T2 Rigors go for about 110m, and T2 Flares go for about 150m.

I go with the Caldari BCUs because they each give 12.5% damage, and save me 16 each on the CPU. Maybe you wouldn't have to fit that Co-Processor. In that fifth slot you then could put a Damage Control or a Signal Booster.

I have trouble fitting the CNR the way I want, and the way I should be able to. I have the skills, but CCP short-changed the CNR when it allowed the 8th launcher. So now I just use a Golem. I should be able to fit the CNR with 4 more launchers with the same fit I do with the Golem. (But all those thoughts are for another post.)

2 T1 rigors, and one T1 flare are good enough, (especially if you want to go cheap).

Honestly, if your criteria is to go the cheap route I'd stick with the Raven and T1 rigs (3 Rigors are better than 2 Rigors and a Flare). The gentlemen with the suggestion for the two Drone Damage Amplifiers has the right idea. Even without the Navy Raven's explosion radius bonus, you can switch to Precision for basically the same end result. MJD and MWD, because the afterburner is just to slow. Personally, I like the Navy Scorpion better because it has an insane tank.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.
