Why has PLEX climed from 520mil to 700mil+ within the last couple of months?

Is it greed from CCP or is actually market manipulation from Goon?

Continuation of this course will cause massive subscription loses and people to quit the game.

Keep pushing your luck and watch EvE burn down to WoW levels.

You have been warned.

The price of PLEX will keep increasing as long the players are willing to pay for it. Therefore, if the price stays at 700m ISK and above it will stay that way because players are able to trade PLEX for that price. Behind this is all about supply and demand, rather than any dark plots.

Anyway, I don't think the objective to pay your monthly time through ISK is something that everyone should aim for. If you spend the whole month farming the ISK to buy PLEX then you will basically be playing an entire month to pay the next one and so on?

Perhaps the price increase could affect the countless alt accounts that depend on the income to pay themselves through PLEX, but again, as long people are willing to pay for PLEX at a certain price, the price will keep increasing.

How would 'greed from CCP' affect the price of plex?

And 'burn down to WoW levels'? What do you mean by that?

Would could have caused or fueled this increase in supply and demand?

Price setting in order to deter multiboxers from using multiple accounts. But it isen't an accusation, simply a possibility.

Why would greed cause CCP to want to deter multiboxers? More accounts = more revenue. (note, ccp make more from plex than from subscribers)

technically, OP is right in theory, but not for the reason they stated. if CCP REALLY wanted to **** themselves, they make money off the people who BOUGHT the PLEX, not the people who redeem them, meaning if PLEX keeps going up in price, more people would buy PLEX, making CCP more money.

Though even if CCP did that, it would be futile since everyone would just buy plex, try and dump it on market, and downward the cost would go until it was back to "normal".

besides, didnt we see PLEX at 750mil a couple years ago? i dont see why everyone is freaking out, economies are hills, not plains.

It is not possible for everyone to pay for their account with isk as plexes are bought by people that not only pay RL money to play but also RL money for isk via plex sales. If everyone wanted to play for free then no one could as there would be no PLEX to buy

Considering that even in its greatly diminished state, WoW has at least 15 times more subscribers than EVE, that would be quite a burn "down".

Still, PLEX are rising because more and more players have gotten access to ways to make isk that are (any or all of) better paying, lower effort to do, or more easily multiboxed. And more recently, of course, are the ship skins. That said, visit http://www.eve-markets.net/detail?typeid=29668 click over to the History tab, punch in 1095 days (three years) and hit view, and marvel at how even at 700m prices are pretty much neatly consistent with the average rate of rise over the last three years.

Wat?

You're warning us that Eve may burn 'down' to WoW levels? Wat?

Also, how does the ISK price make it greed from CCP and what if any facts do you have, to substantiate the speculation of goon manipulation?
