Lady Areola Fappington:  Solo PVP isn't dead!  You just need to make sure you have your booster, remote rep, cyno, and emergency Falcon alts logged in and ready before you do any solo PVPing.

so, this changes absolutely nothing then? hence, it's not getting nerfed at all and it's basically being completely untouched.

The Rorq still does not require any power or CPU from the POS so there is that advantage.

You should, the role they play with mining is important for mineral prices.

maybe if ccp buffed it it would help mineral prices, especially in null.

If the Rorqual doesn’t have the ability to do something unique it will become Null Sec’s Jump Freighter/Ore Hauler and Whipping Boy. This is what the Orca should be changed to, with a large ore hold, since it can travel in High Sec.

Part of me would like it if CCP made is so when the Industrial Core is engaged on the Rorqual it would produce a 20km password protected shield bubble, like a small mobile POS. Maybe 5mil HP to the shield Bubble? They would not really have to change the ship then as it already produces strong boosts, has a large ore hold and 1mil m3 fleet hanger. Not to mention being able to fit a clone vat.

1. It would force the Rorqual to have to leave the bubble to provide the extra mining boosts
2. It would still give a chance for PVP as there would be no POS guns so the defense’s would be just the bubble, the ship defenses itself and whatever ships they keep in fleet hanger.
3. Unless someone keeps bringing in the Heavy Water they would run out in about 2 hours if they didn’t keep refilling it.

But I will concede that I do see exploits with this, the biggest, being able to setup safe spots with the shield bubble during large PVP fights. Also I could see someone warping it into the middle of fight and engaging the shield, ejecting away all non-corp members from the shield. Or dare I say on a WH?

I do understand that CCP doing the programming for a feature like this would be a monumental feat in itself. As I know that they currently have to program the interaction of every module and item, visible or not, with the POS shield bubble. Then they would have to double that interaction, make it mobile and add in items like asteroids, WH and other celestial objects.

So refine them if you got them or sell them for a bargain in Low Sec.
