Domi is fine, nothing wrong with it.

This is indeed the case. Hands off the space potato please.

Is it a space potato or a space whale? I'm never really sure.

A potato for sure, whales are much more streamlined.

The developer that violates the pure beauty of the Dominix will be receiving a strongly worded letter from me.

It's a beautiful ship and doesn't need to be "fixed". If you don't like the look of it, fly something else!

How about fixing my dam Raven that looks like it had half of one of the wings blown off.

Before even considering changes to the Dominix CCP art department's efforts would be much better spent finishing the Aeon and the Archon, two ships that look like they were rushed into service half way through their construction.

After all the Scorpion was eventually finished, don't the Aeon and the Archon deserve to finally have the other half of their hulls too?

Blasphemy! The Raven and Osprey share the beauty of asymmetry!

Why do people complain about the Domi when there are so many ugly Caldari and Minmatar ships that are desperately in need of a redesign?

Because that is a fallacy

Of course, Im glad to see that you agree that Amarr ships cannot be improved now that the Crucifier has been fixed.

Amarr ships are pretty much perfection (maybe a few tweaks here and there and the carriers could both use an overhaul but otherwise they are great).

Of course opinions on ship models are completely subjective but half the Caldari frigates and half the cruisers need some love. It isn't even so much the fact that they are asymmetrical. Some of them just seem to have a really low poly count compared to other ships and a few need to be completely retooled. Same with Minmatar except the ugliness is spread more evenly amongst the ship classes.

This.

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

Yes, the Domi is ugly... but it's ugly with *style*. That ship has a unique look, a personality. Could it be tweaked a little to improve it? I'm sure it could. But at a fundamental level, it's *awesome*. A complete redesign of the Domi would be a travesty.

We don't. The fact simply is that a whale is more streamlined than a potato. Vacuum or no vacuum has no effect on that.

Why hasn't the Domi hull been changed yet :-P Its ugly and looks like the ship designers ran out of ideas until someone walked into the room carrying a balloon. Seriously no one flies the hyperion so how about ccp swaps the domi and hyperion hulls??

The Dominix looks exactly as it should look.

It looks like an old indomitable beast of the battlefield, big, massive and merciless.

No delicate parts sticking out like with so many Minmatar hulls, no needless pomp like the Amarr ships have, no antenaes or needlesly complex parts sticking out of the main body like some of the caldari ships have.

No moving parts on the outside, a basic form that looks like the armor is several metres strong and the only way you could make it look even more functional would be to turn it into a cube or a sphere.

Everytime I think of the dominix a picture comes to my mind of a battleship entering the field badly battered, scarred armor all over, fires even from some smaller impacts, but still unbeaten, still standing strong, a terror to behold for anyone not in the same team.

Might be a little over the top, but that's what I think the Dominix looks like. Smile

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Fighting back is more fun than not.

Domi is one of those things that looks kind of bad, but its design also works really well somehow.

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

What you mean is it looks like it was designed to be practical by an engineer unlike the majority of our Gallente ships that appear to have been designed by arts graduates that have been told to go wild.

Both are valid design styles and I'd hate to lose either of them.

While we are talking about drone boats and redesigns, remember how crappy
Missiles used to look until CCP fixed it so that missiles spew from Their launchers?

Add drone bays and have drones zip out of them :-)

Totally win win (even though I hate the weapon system as it has zero inhibitions. Cap? NOs Doesn't affect it. Ammo? Never runs out).

So if you're not going to do anything, add drone bays to the models and have drones come / go from
Here.

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

Built by CCP
