Why did we lose wormhole intel?

This was unexpected...

•The Jumps API no longer shows jumps into wormhole space.

I have to admit... I'm 50/50 on this change. On one hand, it was nice being able to access Jove or the like and see how active (and when) the system is you've opened into... however, without it it adds an additional element of danger. You simply don't know if that system is currenty active until you go out and look, watch, observe. Although a part of me doesn't like having something taken away, the larger part is intrigued by the possibilities:

* It's no longer easy for people from empire to access your hole, see if it appears active based on jumps and do nefarious things, like run sites, mine, etc.

* It's no longer easy to determine the active time zones of residents in a hole you're planning to invade... you'll actually need to be in there, watching, taking notes, etc. This makes invading harder... both a pro and a con.

* You can no longer see that anomalous jump without the corresponding exit jump telling you someone came in your hole... and they're still there!

I think ultimately this will enhance wormhole life a bit, making them a little more dangerous than they already are, keeping you on edge a little better. Let's face it... if you didn't already have a degree of paranoia about who's there and who isn't in wormholes you belong out in null space where it's safe. Overall... seems like a good change... addition by subtraction.

OMG

that mean that we don't have local for immediate intel but now we don't even have intel for long time / rough intel ?

that will make life way harder for small wh corp

I expect that we will profit from it about as often as we suffer a disadvantage because of it. I approve of the change though because it just makes sense. There are no entities or devices in w-space that could possibly register all the jumps.

Pretty much... fleets can jump into your hole now during your off time and log out and you'll never be the wiser.

Kind of exciting, no?

It was nice having the info, but I prefer it this way. If someone jumps in to my wh when I am not around, how can I have the intel ? You can't, so a good thing to remove it. And yessss, I will have to get used to it, but will make recon even more important.

This move makes sense but is typically half assed. Why does WH space have custom offices? I haven't been back in since the patch but I've been told by friends they are still in there. I didn't realize Concorde was so traveled. Also they need to get rid of all API information including kills, planet info etc... It might lead to a rise in ganking post sale without verification but this half assed immersion is laughable.

Shut down all the API sites non player generated (i.e. they put up the site and fill in the info by hand) so it feels real across the board.

Also some type of module you can put on a POS or CAP to detect if large masses have moved in would be cool and in line with most accepted sci-fi conventions.

I know, immature, but it's always amusing when taken out of context.

As for the hidden jumps stats, well, I'm fine with it. The jumps stats were unreliable anyway. It didn't necessarily tell you if the system was safe. The info was no better than a regular d scan of the system.
