I did fill the Survey and i did not answer a single Question like you wrote here.

I was for extend sandbox with Tools to build more player driven features and make PvP more valuable and i am a super duper Carebear myself.

i have no idea what the OP is talking about and the first two replies did nothing to clarify. HALP!

where are these surveys?

Granted, yep, they want to force everyone into that field, regardless if they can do reasonable things there or are just more cattle. But I guess that quantity is a lot more important than quality these days.

if this is the one about ship skins - I made it very clear that it should not be something that needs aurum or plex - only isk and in-game mats

I have no issues with micro transactions as long as they relate to purely cosmetic things (ship paint as an example).

Any micro transaction that gives a player a unique gameplay advantage I am firmly against.

The eye and the robe are the only thing I ever bought with AUR, all 5 of my accounts have all the AUR they've ever been given by CCP.

The important part to examine about this, is that "watering down" and micro-transactions go hand in hand.

CCP need to introduce a wider audience who is used to a watered down game, to both increase subscriptions in the short term, and increase support for microtransactions in the future. (by bringing in alot of players who may be used to this type of model from other games)

Micro-transactions will definitely "be a thing" beyond paints and monocles. I suspect the reason they introduced monocles and clothes before ship paint is because:

A) They know most people would prefer ship paint or models and this is a way to influence us by way of contrasting. "well if I spent 9000 AUR on a monocle thats useless... whats 40 000 AUR for an AWESOME ship that does stuff?"

B) They let some artsy person from the art department relive childhood fantasies of fashion design.

C) They didnt have the flexibility in the code to do ship models/paints in a timely/cost effective way yet.

Its probably a mixture of the 3, but it all boils down to the same thing. A very calculated, incremental, change over to a Micro-Transaction model, or at least the inclusion of it. (just as bad)

Probably not, but if CCP is that stupid, they deserve it...

Again, this isnt true, they suggsest it in an intern memo not more not less.

The day CCP introduces non-vanity items which interfere with an existing market segment is the day EVE dies, and they know it just as well as we do since the economy is the very basis of the game. Offering functional ships/weapons/ammo or any other such item will be extremely detrimental to the game, even if they do it like Dust (where the only advantage to boutgh items is that they need less skills).

Plex, clothes and ship skins are already at the very edge of what's permissable and i'm fairly sure they know that aswell.



In a game where even an internal memo lead to such large riots and 120 layoffs for its developer, if such microtransactions aren't noticed people would really be sleeping.

There's hundreds of people eyeing the NEX store with every single patch and they will not stop at a frown and fistshake when they find something they don't like. We will know when something is up and so will CCP.
