I tried to narrow it down, but I couldn't so I have to say all of them.

Question though, if it is about cost (ie something in the price range of everybody) why not do them as plastic put together models. I may be a little older, but I used to love putting together model airplanes and tanks as a kid. Newer models are incredibly detailed, and it would be fun to spend time gluing together a model. Additionally put together models could come with various weapon load outs to customize the ship (ie auto cannons or artillery) and are paintable.

I don't mean those piece of crap snap together models either, I mean the real detailed glue together kits. make them all a 1/35th scale or something so size differentiation would be possible. Though I would love simple models, I prefer building them myself, and I don't mean lego building. Just a thought.

As soon as I saw this thread I basically knew instantly that would be the general answer.

Capital pilots may want caps
Small gang player like me will want cruisers, frigs and BS's.
Miners will want Rorq's and Orcas and Ventures

There are so many players that play in such different ways, personal choice will be most likely a ship they have had experience with in game.

I guess in the end though the decision makers will choose the ships that symbolize EVE in its current form.

The Rifter is quite famous, I bet one of those will appear

This is aweseome feedback, there is obviously a very strong interest in ship models. Someone asked what kind of sizes and prices we are looking at, and the answer is that we are looking at different parts of the spectrum. We want to provide something affordable, which still stands up to quality. And then we also want to do something for those that really want a massive, huge pimped out ship with no holds barred. When looking at the market and other major sci-fi properties that have done ship models, we can see that these ubermodels are actually quite popular and can really tie a room together.

I hope these prices will not be over the top like the previous model runs...I also hope they will be of much better and consistently Higher Quality then the previous runs. The only reason I did not buy the previous ship models was due to pricing and above all else the constant complaint of issues I read with the models.

Okay, this might get a lot of flack... but here's my proposal.

Everything to scale.

Lets just say for instance that the Faction Raven that I have on my desk... if it was the size of a ship in eve... then the drake would be about the size of a matchbox car and when propped up near my raven you would see the size differential.

Yes a rifter would be about the size of a quarter.. but it would be diecast and my entire fleet on my desk would be to scale.

My money is on the Nighthawk/Navy/Drake since for me it is one of the coolest looking ship of which, I have wanted to see a model for a long time.

The second ship that I would like to see to scale (compared to my diecast raven) would be the Tengu.

If the tengu were a large ship (not to scale to anything) I still think that would be really badass...

To continue with this line of dialogue, the final grouping of great ships to collect would be all of the T3 cruisers.

Wyvern, about a 1m to 1.5m in length, wooden stand, Lichts included, maybe some fighters and bombers on deck. Price, I don't know, a few hundred CHF up to a thousand maybe, depends on the details etc.

Hawk

Complete with spinning thingies and gold-ish paintjob.

The merlin's design is iconic. The hawk looks even better. No reason not to make a model for it.

The BURST, of course - because screw symmetry !!! Big smile

If possible, please use the old model - the one with protruding trusses everywhere, suggesting one could go and add whatever useful piece of scrap they happen to find, directly duct-taping it to the ship ... Pirate
Those new antenna-like spikes look a bit too Sancha for my taste.

I would like to cast a vote for the humble Pilgrim.

Model size of 30-40cm would be OK.

A kit to assemble the model would be the best. Maybe even some custom paints so we can replicate the colors as close as possible (especially that red gold sheen)?

I'm a big fan of self assembly plastic models, like Tamiya, Revell, Trumpeter and co. are making. It allows for fine details like antennas, surface texture etc. which are hardly possible with a single mold.
I also tried to 3D-print a ship model, but the material is to costly, if you want a big model with details. The Rifter in the first decade box is quite nice, but not great in detail.

I'd like to have:
1. Naga
2. Brutix
3. Rifter

It would be great to have them at scale, so a frigate would be far smaller than a battlecruiser or battleship. up to 60cm for the longest axis of a battleship would be a great scale. Frigates could be done as a simple three to ten part model, battleships could scale up to 120 parts (with fine antennas and so on). There are plenty of Star Wars model kits on the market, that could be used for reference.
Anyhow, I want my EVE Ship on the desk!

How about more new models for ingame ships instead? How about more skins and them properly placed NOT in the NeX finally? Roll

But I guess that's not what you want to hear or read here...

Thus:

Abaddon, Oracle & Aeon (pre-assembled and in Tash-Murkon theme colors)

Sentinel, Scorpion (self-assembly, uncolored)
