EVE freeze, 5-XX seconds

Sometimes, while fighting in PvE (don't know if it also happens in PvP, didn't have that much PvP until now), if a couple of ships are around, I get freezes that seem to get more frequent the longer I play. When I'm mining or even fly around in crowded places like Amarr or Jita, it runs just fine, good fps, no stuttering.

But in combat, EVE seems to go crazy, I can hear my CPU-Cooler speed up every time until the freeze is over. The freezes last anywhere from 5 to even about 40 secons (made me nearly loose my Raven lately). The freezes occur in unregular frequencies, sometimes I can play up to 10 minutes without a single one, then I get a freeze every 5 seconds. It's really frustrating!

PC Specs (it's pretty old and I will replace it in the next 3 months):
CPU: AMD Phenom X4 9650 BE (4 x 2,3Ghz)
Graphics Card: Radeon HD 5670
Motherboard: Acer WMCP87M
RAM: DDR2 4GB

The CPU or RAM usage seem to rise for a brief moment when the freezes occur. Like I said before, anywhere else, even in crowded places, it runs just fine. I did Memtest and Prime95, both have found nothing. Also, I can play BF3, Crysis and other games just fine, only Eve seems to be having that problem. I've been playing since half a year and have had this problem since the beginning. My PC has been reformated 4 times in that timespan. Windows updates are done, graphics driver should also be up to date. I thought about a BIOS update, but I'm not so sure about it.

I cannot provide any more details right now, I'll gather them the next time I can with logserver.exe . If you have any other programs you want details from, feel freee to ask, I'll happily provide the information if you can solve this problem.

Logs would be most useful at this point.

You could try playing around with settings, lowering graphics settings, turning off audio. Let me know if you find any settings that seem to make a difference.

I'm currently doing missions to reproduce the ... situation.

Logserver.exe is running and making logs, I'll be posting them after I've tried your options.

What I found out until now: I've just started the game and done my first mission, no lag spikes occured UNTIL I tabbed out once to make some notes, check on the RAM usage and so on and got back in, then 3-4 lag spikes occured, the first 2 were pretty small, the other ones were longer (like 12 seconds or so)

RAM-Usage is at 997.502 K and CPU somewhere between 03-12%.

Do you want a DxDiag aswell?

I'll keep testing until it has reached it's worst state again. Then I'll report back with whatever logfiles I have until then.

I have done more missions, more info follows: Number of enemies doesn't seem to matter, even with only 2 NPC's on screen, the freezes occur, but they seem to be smaller then. Maybe it's a matter of synching? Anyway, Sound doesn't matter, my overall RAM-usage goes down when I disable sound, but the freezes are still there. Fun fact: Music keeps playing while the games freezes for 10 seconds. Rockets spaz out and take weird routes (suddenly come from above or something like that). Sometimes my ship get's teleported a few metres back.

Some more Intel: Graphics don't make too big of a change. Even at lowest graphics, the freezes occured and they were just as long as with high graphic settings. But I noticed that the missile firing sound is terribly unsynched with the firing animation. Also, it seems that number of enemy ships does matter! The more ships they are, the more freezes I get and also the longer the freezes are.
RAM-Usage and CPU-Usage are the same during the freezes.

Sidenote: Chaning the graphics also didn't have any impact on my framerate?! With lowest settings, I had the same framerate as with the highest settings, don't know what's up with that.

I also submitted a bug report a while ago now and mentioned your name in it, I hope it will get redirected to you. I got a new log after trying out all your solutions, if you tell me how I can send you that, I'll do it.

I got new infos on this case: Just for kicks, a corp member said I should try windowed mode. Somehow, the freezes are completely gone.

Can you please fix this problem for me?! I want to play in fullscreen :(

EDIT: Nope, just delaxed them, they are back. I still need help!

Btw, I noticed that if I get a freeze in window-mode and I click on it, the window of EVE goes all white and I get the Windows-Standard-Cursor, which is this blue circle that indicates something is loading. So, it seems like it's about to crash.

Is this still occurring at the same rate? We fixed a memory leak last week - it's possible the leak was causing at least some freezes, once memory usage got really high.

Yes.
I installed EVE now on another partition because someone in my corp thought, that it may be a problem with my HDD. But there freezes are still there, they still occur at the same rate. I read in some other forum that this problem is connected to some incompabilities with ATI Cards in combination with some driver versions. I installed some old ones, didn't change anything. I now have the newest Beta ATI driver version and they're still there.

I have no clues anymore, I'm all out of wisdom.

I finally may have got the reason... I know why I keep getting freezes and I know the cause of them. I don't know how you guys missed that, but it's actually kinda simple.
I opened the Debug-Monitor ( crtl+shift+alt+m) and looked at all of the stats. I did that the last 2 days.
Today, by accident, I left the "Outstanding"-Tab open.
Guess what: Everytime something falls behind and my client tries to synch up again, I get those freezes. It's actually the time, the client needs to synch up again. And they usually last as long as I'm out of synch.
As in combat are a lot of things going on at the same time, there is a lot of traffic, so some packets get lost and the game goes out of synch.

The question now is: Why am I going desynch so quickly and why does it take multiple seconds to synch up again? Even when I'm docked at stations, I'm going desynch for some seconds, but it fixes without a freeze (most of the time). So, why does it freeze in combat?

My connection should be more than enough for this game. Sometimes, things go out of synch for about 13 seconds!
I already tried disabling any security software like firewall and so on, didn't help.
