I purpose that players with the skill to compress ore be able to compress ore at stations with refining as long as they have the blue print.

Since no one else has responded to you in over a month, I'll bite.

You forgot the magical part of your proposal that might make someone out there actually think you're serious.

Why? Why do we need this? What problem does it solve? Why is it necessary? What is the benefit of allowing it, and what drawbacks does it have?

Anyone can throw out a random idea - it's the why that will garner you support.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

The biggest benefit from mineral compression is you can move large amounts of minerals with less hauling power. For the Capital/Super Capital builders mineral compression is everything. That’s why they buy or make 425mm Rails, XL Ammo’s, etc., because this allows them to move a large amount of minerals in a compressed form. The thing is that ore compression has the heights mineral compression ratio and requires less time to make. The only problem is that the Rorqual is the only thing in eve that can compress ore.

A big benefit you would actually start seeing if station compression happens is a spick in ore trade as Capital building pilots would seek to buy compressed rare ores like Dense Veldspar, Sharp Crokite, or even ice. Smaller mining entities would be able to transport minerals in larger quantity’s to larger trading hubs for larger profit.

Maybe not ore compression, but mineral compression in general would be 'helpful', but i would strongly have to argue against this point because of the current demographic issues it would affect.

Part of the 'tether' nullsec has relied on is that unless they are willing to become fully self sufficient in nullsec in terms of mineral production, that they have to make extensive, fragile, and risky logistics paths to and from highsec to meet their demands.

What I really don't approve of, personally, is the extensive 'outsourcing' of industry needs to highsec when there's so much available space and resources nullsec has that just sits 'idle'. There's no shortage of starry-eyed miners in highsec to get out there, and I don't see why CCP should make it easier for Nullsec'ers to keep out productive pilots.

More effective compression methods would reduce nullsec's need to establish local industrial capacity by increasing the efficiency of imports out of Jita. Bringing more miners into nullsec would increase local market supply and reduce the need to export 'compression modules' out of highsec.

Thus, fewer trips would be necessary, and you help flesh out the wild frontiers of nullsec.

It has to be ore compression because there has to be a since of loss, if you don't have the skills to refine good or standings to a faction if you’re in empire to get all the minerals back should be a factor. If you can compress you should not have a problem with refining.
