Update: I've moved into faction warfare for the Galente. I hope this move will be a more appealing setting to promote my ideas. I still plan on experimenting with the ideas stated below and am still recruiting. However recruitment is now expanded to all players who are dedicated to faction warfare.

Within The Paragons you can expect to have much larger control over tactical decisions.
I'm looking for players willing and dedicated to creating a corp that uses unique structure and pre-combat planning, primarily in PvP combat. In short I need people who want to try, build, discuss and promote unique tactics that make the game fun for every one.

After reading the below post, if you have any questions send me an Eve-mail or join the channel 'The Paragons'

Before I share what I hope to accomplish, I would like to explain what I want to avoid.

I've been playing Eve for a little over 2 years. Despite a rough start I've been in High, Low and Null. I've never been one to enjoy mining, ratting or running missions. Most of my PvP comes out of RvB and Faction warfare. In faction warfare it was quite frustrating to get involved with people who were not looking at it strategically and making silly decisions. And RvB ran its course when I was fresh and had zero pvp experience. But couldn't provide me with same style of territorial claims that FW could. Null sec left me even more board than High sec. There never seemed to be a clear "To do list". Most of my Null time was spent ratting or joining a fleet, waiting to be told to jump and hit F1, while flying 1 of 4 ships allowed. This is when I formed the opinion that Eve was boring. But after thinking about it, Eve might not be so boring. The thing that was making it boring was the people. Every one thinks that success means to do "X". What about all the other letters. If eve is what it claims to be, a vast sand box, then why shouldn't people be allowed to PvP the way they imagined before joining eve.

Here's my proposal. (Edit: Throw out all you know about currently FCing)

As I mentioned before the structure is 3 tiers.
Squads
Wings
Fleets

Squads are ran uniquely. I think that one thing that drives combat is flying with people you know have similar skills and play styles to your own. Assume that this corp was functional and you were a squad commander. You may be specialized in E-war and Logi. You wouldn't need to sit around waiting to get enough people in a fleet to properly utilize Either. Instead You as a squad leader Have the ability to Recurite members to your squad. What does that mean? It means that you would be able to select, screen, train people in your time zone, specialization and even personality. You fly with the people you want.

Now that we understand what my goal is for squads. What about wings? Well wings are more like our current FC's. Instead they have what I believe to be some advantages. As I hinted at a moment ago (about squads), I imagine squads having specialties. This way a wing commander (The person in charge of said wing) will know exactly what a squad can do. So if a Wing commander needs to keep gates clear while another wing commander takes down a POS or POCO they know what squads to assign to it. One thing I did not mention is that Target calling is not the job of the wing commanders. It actually would be squad leaders. I in-vision wing commanders more or less running their squads like an RTS. Your basically getting intel from your squad leaders and acting accordingly. whether it be reinforcements, retreat, relocate, orchestrating Logi and Ewar. Other duties of a WC are promotions and recruitment. I also would like to barrow something form RvB and that is friendly skirmishes. In down times, time with little to do, I don't see a problem having wing vs wing or squad vs squad style fights. In fact it would be great to encourage it.

I'm still thinking about all that a fleet commander could do. But I imagine them being the decisions makers. Being able to declare wars, decide whether to take space or leave it. That sort of thing.

And of course this is just my idea. My #1 goal is to let Fleet, Wing, and Squad leaders run their respective divisions as they see fit. All I ask is that we try to take new approaches to it.

I'd like to add that all these ideas are just that, ideas. And are open for discussion with people who are interested in actually taking part in this corp. With that said I'm looking for members who may not want to be "leaders" but are willing to take part in forming rules and structure.

Sun Tzu's Art of War and Eve

2-6. There is no instance of a country having benefited from prolonged warfare

2-8. The skillful soldier does not raise a second levy, neither are his supply-wagons loaded more than twice.

2-19. In war, then, let your great object be victory, not lengthy campaigns.

2-20. Thus it may be known that the leader of armies is the arbiter of the people’s fate, the man on whom
it depends whether the nation shall be in peace or in peril.

3-12. There are three ways in which a ruler can bring misfortune upon his army:—

3-13. (1) By commanding the army to advance or to retreat, being ignorant of the fact that it cannot
obey. This is called hobbling the army.

3-14. (2) By attempting to govern an army in the same way as he administers a kingdom, being ignorant
of the conditions which obtain in an army. This causes restlessness in the soldier’s minds.

3-15. (3) By employing the officers of his army without discrimination, through ignorance of the military
principle of adaptation to circumstances. This shakes the confidence of the soldiers.

3-17. Thus we may know that there are five essentials for victory:
(1) He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight.
(2) He will win who knows how to handle both superior and inferior forces.
(3) He will win whose army is animated by the same spirit throughout all its ranks.
(4) He will win who, prepared himself, waits to take the enemy unprepared.
(5) He will win who has military capacity and is not interfered with by the sovereign.

4-3. Thus the good fighter is able to secure himself against defeat, but cannot make certain of defeating
the enemy.

4-4. Hence the saying: One may know how to conquer without being able to do it.

5-1. Sun Tzu said: The control of a large force is the same principle as the control of a few men: it is merely a question of dividing up their numbers.

5-2. Fighting with a large army under your command is nowise different from fighting with a small one: it is merely a question of instituting signs and signals.

5-4. That the impact of your army may be like a grindstone dashed against an egg—this is effected by the science of weak points and strong.

5-5. In all fighting, the direct method may be used for joining battle, but indirect methods will be needed in order to secure victory.

6-1. Sun Tzu said: Whoever is first in the field and awaits the coming of the enemy, will be fresh for the fight; whoever is second in the field and has to hasten to battle will arrive exhausted.

6-12. If we do not wish to fight, we can prevent the enemy from engaging us even though the lines of
our encampment be merely traced out on the ground. All we need do is to throw something odd and
unaccountable in his way.

7-1. Sun Tzu said: In war, the general receives his commands from the sovereign.

7-15. In war, practice dissimulation, and you will succeed.

7-34. Do not pursue an enemy who simulates flight; do not attack soldiers whose temper is keen.

7-35. Do not swallow bait offered by the enemy. Do not interfere with an army that is returning home.

7-36. When you surround an army, leave an outlet free. Do not press a desperate foe too hard.

7-37. Such is the art of warfare.
