Obviously going to get Command Center Upgrades and Interplanetary Consolidation to 5, but what about the others? Any reason to get Remote Sensing to 5? Does the Advanced Planetary 5 make that big of a difference? Does it show resources that I cannot see now with level 3?

You seem more than ready to go. As for other skills, as in everything in Eve you have to get going and decide what you do or don't need to raise.

My trade guy has the same skill levels as you and does just fine.

just wondering, how much can you make a month doing that? how long does it take to manage and collect everything once your planet is full?

In nulsec with necessary skills at 4, spending maybe 10 minutes a daymin/maxing collectors then another 15 every other day or so transporting materials I was pulling in enough in isk value for a plex every month just off PI. Get a good system or a few good systems, reasonably safe with some good production going on and it's free isk for minimal effort. The flipside is that with 8 accounts it becomes a time sink, with a hypothetical 3 characters on each of those 8 it would be more akin to everything you do in eve for money if you want it to operate at peak efficiency all the time.

The negative is that it's all prone to .01 isk wars in Jita completely subject to the whim of the market, and sells fairly slow in nulsec unless you're the only supplier of POS fuel goods.

The positive is that it's free money for almost no risk, which is why I assume they're adding destroyable player owned customs offices.

I'm ambivalent about Planetology and Advanced Planetology to V.

I have an alt which has them both trained up to V - and his PI output is noticeably higher than other alts which have worse scanning skills, especially in the long run as resources start to be depleted etc.

I am not entirely certain if this is due to the quirky planets which he is using or to the scanning skills themselves. The difference however is significant enough to be noteworthy.

It can be partly mitigated by the trick of moving the heads around, installing and checking before submitting (really though, isn't this a bug?) but still those skills are worth something.

Whether they are worth the long training time though is another matter - note that I only have one alt with that skillset Pirate

I didn’t train planetology at all on my alt. You don’t really need the skills. The remote sensing skill is only needed for finding planets. You can scan any planet you have a colony on. It is nice to have to 5 on one character, but training it to 1 or 2 is fine for the rest.

What you do with PI in high sec is to skip the resource gathering and plan for straight on production as high sec yields can never compete with null or even low sec yields.
