2 windows don't want to stay put everytime i dock

Ok, I have my chat window and my cargohold window at the bottom left corner of my screen, one on top of the other. I undock and they're ok, i dock and swoosh these 2 windows pop up to the middle of the screen. Need to drag them back down to their old position but everytime I dock my ship again, back they go. Getting very annoying.

Funnily enough the windows on my 2nd account client stay put and don't move about. Anyone else have this or any help to fix it please?

I'm having a similar problem. I place my local chat on the bottom right. Every time I dock or undock it moves to the top right, and the overview and station services slide down below it (bottom right).

This is getting very old, very quick.

I have a similar problem that doesn't even require docking to be a problem.

To conserve screen area, I will overlap windows such as local, scanning and cargo. However since there is no longer the ability to pin windows, opening one window will push the current window of the screen or appear offscreen itself since the new UI is not allowing window location overlap. The windows moving off screen causes information loss and the inability to interact with important data interfaces.

The only current correction for this makes for smaller screen realstate and reduces with manual pointing and visual area.

If the windows are pinned try unpinning them.

Found a fix for this. Change the "Windows snap distance" to "Do not snap". Had to rearrange all the windows both in space and in a station, but then they seem to hold their position

That fixed it, thanks. Just had to jiggle the windows around a bit after the no snap thing, undock/redock and they didn't move on their own. Damn poltergeist windows ...

Disabling snap fixed it for me as well, however, not having that feature is kind of sad.

Found a thread where this problem apparently dates back to 2008. Would be nice if a dev could chime in.

I discovered last week that if you have the option to merge your ships/items windows with the station services enabled, docking may case your windows to go wonky if they're snapped to edges, especially the bottom-left area of the screen.

Disabling the option, opening your ships/items windows and then moving/resizing them so that they are well out of the way and not snapping to anything, and then re-enabling the option should also help.

I think the problem there is that the default spawn position for those windows may be set to the bottom-left area for some reason, and with something else already snapped there, it just shoves it out of the way - for some reason the EVE client is opening those windows separately before "stacking" them with the other tabs in the station services window, rather than just opening tabs in the station services directly.
