Best mining output, either now or post-summer buff will be C6. Obviously.

If you're looking to go in and stay in C1s are decent, but you won't be able to get your barges back out if you're ever evicted, and you're hella sure not gonna get any orcas you may build in there out.

C2s+ let you get orcas in/out.

C3s are the first Wspace class to get Mercoxit.

C5/6 let you get Rorquals in/out.

From there, the amount of ore in the sites goes up by class, up to C6 sites having the most.

Something to note, however (applies to both Gas/Grav):

C1 ore/gas sites are also found in C2+, the new ore/gas sites found in C2 are also found in C3+, and so on and so forth.

However, eventually you will run out of grav sites, whether because you mined them all or you activated them all and they despawned. They appear (almost) instantly in another system in your Wspace constellation.

*applies to all site types except for Ghost Sites* So, you can either get alts into every other system in your constellation to constantly activate every single site/put up a POS in every single system in the constellation, or wait for what can by days/weeks for the sites to get run/activated in the other systems.

I would suggest C3 space with highsec statics.

Purely because you can stick an orca through it and you get access to all forms of ore

You should mine in c5s or c6s if you don't do industry, especially since a rorqual is extremely important in wormhole space. If you want to build your own rorqual then c3-hs is preferred.

what are these....."implants"?

I haven't had an implant in any of my character's heads for years.

Hell, I've probably remapped maybe twice (across all my characters)since the option first appeared.

At first glance I am doing EVE Wrong. However, I don't have the anxiety of having to replace implants after every podding, remap just so, and I can pod jump myself across the star cluster without a care in the world.

Can't remember the last time I set up an EVEmon skill plan, either.

and while reckless mining does indeed equal dead barges, careful mining under the right circumstances can make some decent ISK.

Don't think I've been ganked while mining even when AFK / watching movies/tv/installing a backyard fence/etc etc in c4 space. Atleast not by players, sleepers otoh....

It depends on how you look at it. Some people like building things more than they like isk. I've been in a number of wspace corps with capitals in c1-3s. Mostly it's due to bored pilots with more isk than they can use who mine as hobby. A carrier or dread in a C1-4 can be quite handy. If you've got good hole control you can run sites very fast with a carrier reping you. They also make incredible bait*, and can be handy bashing a POS or POCO. Carriers can assign fighters to other pilots from safe spots. Dreads make a lot less sense, but nothing prevents you from blapping people in pvp like the big boys in the C5-6s.

* Seriously people will blindly jump into an obvious trap if the bait is a carrier. Even when they know you know that they are ready and waiting to jump you, and that a quick look at the corp/alliance killboards show you aren't complete idiots...

PS- Personally I like isk more than building things...
