Best LV4 ship for me

Caldari is the only race ive trained as far as ships so basically Im wondering would it be better to use a Navy Drake or a Raven. My missile skills are pretty good but I cant use T2 cruises and im only at BS 4 versus BC 5. My gun skills are **** not even 2 mil so I figured a Rokh would be out.

You should Rock and Roll over to the missions and complexes part of the forums and Ramble On with the people there.

You will just get Trampled Underfoot in this forum section with questions like that. People will show you a Whole Lotta Love in the Missions section.

This does need to be moved to either Missions & Complexes or Ships & Modules, but since the question's been asked...

...T2 Cruise isn't a prerequisite for flying a cruise missile boat in L4 missions - you'll just need to use target painters and drones for smaller targets. And you'll get more-than-acceptable performance out of a Raven at Caldari Battleship IV, probably better than a Navy Drake at Caldari Battlecruiser V.

The Navy Drake doesn't have the base Drake's resistance bonus, so it'll be rather more fragile if it catches a lot of aggression; you can't really use a battlecruiser in L4 missions unless it's got some serious defensive bonuses, and you'd have to sacrifice too much firepower to get even a defensively-bonused battlecruiser to survive the tougher L4's.

These posts a tiring. You know that ship you have enjoyed using thus far to do missions? Try finding a battleship that uses the same weapons/armor tank. There you go.

All you can really do is just try a BS and see if you like it. Back when I cared to mission I tried about 3(?) battleships before I found one I liked the style of.

Geez, I wonder what ship uses Caldary BS AND Missiles.... Any ideas?

Navy Scorpion. You can buff it to almost 400k EHP with T2 fittings and a few cheap Gistum C-Type amplifiers.

Since Navy Scorp and navy Raven do exactly the same DPS, always go for the navy Scorp since it either has more tank or better damage projection to smaller targets thanks to its additional med.

The Navy Raven only works as a torpedo platform, where its secondary bonus gives the most benefit. With Cruise Missiles you can ignore it once you use 2 TP.

ok now u r bullshitting. i used a scorp and a raven. Raven navy wins with applying damage all the time. Navy Scorpions strong point is the possibillity to brick tank it. But i used close fittings on both only pasting the raven navy one.

I will not comment at the quality of your fitting but please, do yourself a favor and actually think. You can not simply use the same fitting on both ships because for one, you would be left with one empty mid slot on the navy scorp and second you are overtanked.

Whereas the Navy Raven needs 3 slotts for tank the navy scorp works perfectly fine with just one Shield Boost and one Invul / Em Hardener.

The 2 open slotts can be used for some real Sensor Boosters and not **** ones for low slotts or additional Painters or webbifiers or ECM or Drone Mods or Prop Mods or Tank.


The Bonus of the Navy Raven only works against realy small targets (Spider Drones) or with Torpedos. Everything else gets the same damage from both ships, whereby the navy scorp simply is more versatile.

EDIT: Oh, and yes, you normaly use drones against frigates, hence why nobody gives a crap about having enough tracking with Artillery to hit orbiting frigates.

oh boy did i say i used the same i said close or similar, as 2 slot tank on the scorp if u can get away with it fine i didnt feel proper to go farther down than 3. With the raven navy i can one hit a cruiser, with the scorp i need 2 salvos. Then if i fit a 4th bcs and switch a tp to a sebo which u can do with a geno (which is my true fit but when i post fits anywhere i normaly try to avoid posting implant fits). I give u that u have 1 maybe 2 more ewar in the mids of the scorp. But with my playstyle it makes a rather small difference. Then again what works for me might not work for u. The post below is the scorp fit i tested the raven against and where the raven won for my playstyle.
