When I enter a new and unfamiliar WH I typically run a background check of latest NPC/ship kills on dotlan or staticmapper and zkillboard. I've been seeing a lot of POS and POS modules taken out and in the latest one I've been in I was looking into detail on the last POS killed, and even looked at the killboard at the corp who lost it. From what I have seen it looked like random fleet of 40 came and wiped out one module, then another random, not part of the last, came in and destroyed another and so forth for the rest of the 10 modules left behind until there was the tower left...and yet again another random group of 40 or so comes and destroyed the tower. But I have seen no kills on pos defenses or loses on the losing side for ships, which tells me that the corp it belonged to didn't put up a fight. Now if it were one corp/alliance to destroy them all it be guessable as to what happened, but providing it was at least 7-10 different corporations/alliances this seems entirely too random and my guess the tower was already offline.

I'm just wondering what corps are thinking when they do stuff like this...is it just them trying to get a reaction fleet to come fight them or is it just to make their killboard look good?
