NEX Store is back.....a warning from the past

OK it never really left the game. But for awhile pretty much everyone ignored it. Now CCP are trying to get us to look at it again. At the moment I guess most people are still burning off the free Aurum the received ages ago, but soon we will need to pay real money.

I am sure CCP have learned a lot from the last mess, but lets not forget how we got here in the first place.

I think most of it came from Justin Bieber articles. Anyways, so real shirts sell for about $19 dollars so this stuff will sell for like $1-2 or....

I hope CCP makes billions selling vanity items to vain people with too much money for their own good and uses the money to makes gameplay things we can all enjoy.

It was a major leap forward for CCP to recognize that most of us want to spend more time space-Barbie-ing spaceships, and some people are willing to risk vanity items in combat.

I bought 2 comets the other day, and I expect if I am happy with their performance I may eventually grab a 10 stack for losing whilst playing space police with, and I'll certainly replace my mission hyperion with the skinned one next time I'm there.

I think CCP understands that gold ammo and functional differences for skins are things that will rapidly alienate the userbase.

I also might have spent aurum on my avatar if there was actually fun stuff. A blaster side arm for crying out loud, how hard is it for a gallente girl to pack protection these days!

they would only be cosmetic in use, otherwise we get right back to pay-2-win debate. CCP doesnt want another mass exodus of players.

I'm really not hot on the idea of buying Aurum whatsoever. I'm highly annoyed I can't give away the free cash I was given for crying out loud!

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.

So would I, but hey, we've got "DUST" and a fantasy MMO that's never seen the light of day so "better use" is wide open to interpretation.

But to clarify, I was thinking mostly of the reckless that get caught AFK and war targets. But sure, now that you mention it, I'm more than willing to include the rarest creature of all in New Eden, "The Innocent Bystander".

I think CCP has learned their lesson.

Besides, shifting one or two people away from the spaceship game to occasionally give us a few more NeX things would be a welcome change for me.

Or would you argue that CCP has been ignoring the internet spaceships game for the last three years?

I, for one, welcome our NEX overlords.
