Yes... Great job CCP. Of course, you can't please everyone wth everything, but you have done some really solid work on this expansion. All of the little things you have fixed are fantastic and space looks f-ing amazing! Thanks! Now let's see how all the new balancing plays out :).....

And as always, new ships = gooooooood.

I concur with the opinion that this patch is in the same ball park as Apocrypha, I do not agree that it is of equal quality.

Wonderfull patch CCP! Only thing I dont like is that the option "Lock windows when pinned" is gone, thats the ONLY thing though, everything else I'm loving!

I too would like to say good job to CCP on this patch. I have said it in other posts, but lets reveal my true feelings about this patch in a thread specifically geared toward all that is good with this patch and this game. But first, a little about me...

I first joined this game in 2007 when my brother-in-law suggested I play it. I downloaded it, and started my trial. Like any new player I had a difficult time understanding what to do, but quickly became versed in the EVE methodologies of life.

Within my first 2 months I created my 2nd account. Throughout the years my account numbers grew from 2 to a staggering 13 accounts. I played and trained each account religiously. I forged many bonds, found many friends, and even made a few enemies along my path in EVE.

Then Incarna came out, I went from being able to run all 13 accounts to barely able to run 1 account. It was this day I ensured all accounts were cancelled, and proceeded to uninstall EVE and any software that had any association to EVE.

About a month ago, I received an email offering re-subscription for $4.95 USD so I re-subbed 2 of my accounts to try it out. To my surprise incarna ran a little bit better as I was able to dual box both accounts just fine. There was also a buzz floating around about the next patch and what would behold the fate of EVE. I continued my game play for the next month, and even paid for both accounts for the 2nd month in wait of the next patch.

FINALLY! November 29th 2011 arrives. I wake up in the morning and run to the computer to see if the patch has completed which it had so I immediately begin downloading the update. As I watch the progress bar slowly progress from 0 to 100% I wait in anticipation for Crucible to be finished so I can see what CCP has done, and see all the goodies I have been told about and read about that have come my way..

An hour after starting my initial download, the patch is completed. I pull up my first eve client and login. I find myself in the middle of an asteroid belt in high-sec (where i logged out in my battleship), and immediately see the changes in the space texture. It was this time that I decided to move the client from my 20 inch wide screen monitor to my 32 inch 720P HDTV and WHOA! everything is still tiny?!? So I start researching and I find the UI scaling options in the escape menu.

Having my client on my TV, with my UI scale at 110% and I can now read everything that is being said, and everything in every window. This feature alone, performed beyond all my expectations. It is absolutely obvious, CCP, that you put a lot of heart and dedication into the Crucible patch. I have yet to hear about, or experience any major bugs that affect gameplay (other than the concord snafu at the beginning).

If I had to choose my favorite addition in this patch, I don't think I would be able to. From the engine trails, the nebula, the new autopilot abilities down to the smallest detail there is a lot to take in and experience. However being able to sit back away from the TV and able to read corp, alliance and fleet chat means the world to me. These channels are my life line in the game, this feature alone could have been a patch by itself yet you chose to include so many other enhancements.

Just remember CCP, that no matter what you do someone is going to complain about something. That is their right to do, granted they do it in a mature and suitable manner. There is no stopping someone from complaining, even if the game were perfect with 0 bugs and everything in working order these types of people would complain about something. It is patches like this, and your level of dedication and attention to detail so prevalent in this patch that goes the extra mile with most of your customers. Patches like this that raise the moral and support of your customers in support of CCP, which is great for both sides.

So with all that said, here's a beer that I hold up for CCP and all the Developers and Content Creators that spent so much time creating the best patch to date. You have turned this would-be un-subscriber into a full fledged paying member for the foreseeable future. I hope to see more attention to detail and outright awesome development that we have seen in this patch for many more to come. Congratulations, and a job very well done CCP.

When I undocked in Huola, I saw my ship engulfed in a huge nebula cloud. The stargates were pointing straight towards their destinations, oriented in the correct relative positions in the star map.

For once in Eve, I experienced....vertigo...

CCP, I was right to have kept my faith in you for the past 7 years. Now its all good for another 7 more Cool

Just wanted to say great job. Not only was this expansion a great success due to the features implemented, it also runs faster (gate jumping), looks more professional, and these features didn't seem to add any major bugs. Kudos for your hard work.

Instead of just staring at porn for 2 hours going align->jump->align->jump->troll->align->jump->win->win->win->gohome, I actually looked around, the new art is beautiful. Ship textures, warp tunnels, cynos, engine trails, space artwork & gate positioning, hell even the in station quarters (turned them on now.) It's all running better than I had expected on my single client, and the environment (space) is now more 'engaging' than ever. Only two small things I'd like to point out..

  • Window panes no longer have an option to keep them in place
  • The star gates in the overview, under the 'name' title, now say type & name which is somewhat annoying because of the space it takes up.

The font isn't really that horrible, it's actually growing on me a bit so I'm going to give it a while to 'settle' before I make a final decision on it.

AMAZING JOB PUSHING OUT THIS EXPANSION. If this happened every expansion I shudder to think of the epic win levels eve would now be achieving.

When the single biggest complaint of this expansion is about the Font, you you've done pretty well. Kudos to CCP.

@ucntkilme :- Quite a write-up, but an interesting read, thank you. You might just want to edit the February reference to November though Smile

Interesting in that you are probably one of many such cases. Here's to hoping many more players return as you have.
