Who did the Nugo paintjobs? That guy clearly designed them between the hours of 1630 and 1700 on a Friday afternoon. In a bar. And phoned them in.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

i think it's less of a paint job and more of a "hey those ships we're being told to scrap cause of the rust and everything, yeah they look cool, lets sell these as a new paint job. if we put a poly-somatic coating over the top No one will know the difference!"

If I see an Abaddon in Thukker colors I hope to be in a position to destroy it. Disgraceful.

You should do that with an Abaddon anyway. Remember the "Reclamation", visit the wreck of your battleship in the Traun system when you get near Hek, our wonderful market hub in Metropolis. A lovely place, especially if you have been down to the planet. The Reclamation had an awesome paintjob though, but one of my ancestors finished it off with nothing but a screwdriver and the will to freedom.

I always said that those big condensers which store the energy for your lasers are dangerous. What would happen if someone connects the one half of the firing batteries in the wrong direction of the other half? In the moment you try to shoot you just blow up.

Really the site is worth a visit. Just tell me when you need a tourist guide and I show you where the crew quarters were in the wreck and where the condensers have blown up. Sadly the gold from the wreck has been looted by unknown salvagers, so the hull is now just sooth black.

I could sell you some perfectly, shiny and new 1400mm Artillery II cannons, if you like. Weapons that don't blow up on screwdrivers.

Abaddons are nice and durable ships.
Paint for them is not essential, besides, it can be a camouflage, so naive minmatars would think it is one of their own. When they hit your optimal boundary, you open the fire and finish the job.

And about the weapons, Ms. Wildfire, 1400mm cannons in fact blow up inside each time they fire, because they use ancient chemical propellant system. Although I have used 1400mm cannons on one or two abaddon ships, I prefer to trust more modern high tech safe weaponry as lasers or railguns.

See, the 1400 are designed to handle any case of explosion. Inside or outside the ship. This is why Minmatar ships don't blow up. They might have the impression to be a bit rusty but alas as you said, paintjobs are not essential for survival. I'd prefer a rusty hull with cannons that explode into the direction of my enemy always over cannons that explode inside my ship and leave me in the gold plated wreckage of it.

Sometimes I wonder if Amarr ships are just held together by goldplating, arrogance and scriptures. And bad engineering.

See the idea to transmit any damage to an opponent by an energy weapon is daft. Because the E=mc² means that a lot more energy is needed to do that than simple kinetic mass. There are just two advantages of energy weapons. First you need no target prediction, you just fire on the position your enemy is at the moment and the beam will hit him with the speed of light. Nothing a good gunner can't compensate and it's not worth those over engineered frill the Amarr fleets are flying.
Second you don't need ammo. Well we got cargo holds, so what's the point?

We never have energy problems. We never have need for the skill "Controlled Burst" which means I as a Minmatar pilot simply press the button and fire as fast as I can and don't use sucking "controlled bursts". I mean: controlled? bursts? That's a contradiction in itself!

When I press my thumb on the fire button so that the joints turn white, I'm yelling, screaming: "Die little piggy! Die! Die! Die!" And there's nothing like control behind my efforts do achieve it. I just want my cannons to roar and shred the dumbass into pieces that has risen my wreath. Who the hell wants to control this feeling? Sometimes I find myself using the other hand leaving scratches on my HUD instead.

Yeah. I'm wild. I'm tribal. I'm Minmatar. You may fly by Pend Insurance. We fly by instinct.

I've seen enough projectile weapons overheated until they've exploded inside, outside, everyside. It's not a problem that just affects DEWs. Now I think about it, a couple of times I've overridden the safeties on my launchers to the point that they've developed spot failures in the exhaust chambers! Any weapon can be abused to the point of failure.

I fly Amarr ships. There solid, and the opulence of the design is good for the crews' morale. ( It makes us feel rich when we are anything but Sad )

I really prefer weapons, that explode on enemy ships, and not inside my ship.
Like missiles.

I must admit, i've had little to no problems with missiles. As much as i love gallente ship design, i have taken to flying the gurista hybrids.

I don't really think that there are "bad ships," per se. There are ships that are bad for a particular job, but no ships that I'd call inherently useless. Having had a long time to train the skills neccessary for flying the majority of New Eden's ships, I look upon them as a very extensive toolset. If I'm flying into a firefight I think is going to last several hours without resupply, I'll take an Abaddon - it can take a hell of a lot of punishment and it doesn't require bulky ammunition. On the other hand, if I need to do a withering amount of damage in a very short timeframe, I'll bring a Megathron. If I'm flying into a fight where I'm certain there'll be a lot of capacitor warfare, I'll take a Drake, since it'll keep firing and tanking damage even if my capacitor's completely dead. If I want to blast tough enemies from well outside their firing range, I'll bring a Tornado.

Every ship of every race has a variety of uses in combat, and the wise warrior never discounts any ship of any race, even if he can't fly it himself - it may come up against him in combat, and knowing its strengths and weaknesses will assist him greatly in defeating it.

Gallentean ships are bad, disregarding how you paint them.
They are ugly, disgusting and unprofessional.

Like the Comorant? Or are we going to forget that one? Don't get me wrong, she is a good and effective ship, but why in the Amarr is it so uneven?

Actually Cormorants look cool. Like, you know. A proper combat ship.
And especially Flycatchers.
Very proper.
Good looking.
And efficient too.

Seeing as the Empress stripped Kador of his personal fleet, I find it a little intriguing that he is inviting capsuleers to paint their vessels in his colors.
