GUI Market Ticker

I think that CCP needs to add a GUI Market Ticker that would allow trends to be displayed for a selected system.

The pilot brings up the Market Ticket Dialogue Box where they can then select the appropriate system to monitor. The capsuleer would then choose either Ammunition, Scripts, Drones, Ships etc.. From this list the pilot would then select the module or item from each category where the trends would be displayed in a Market Ticker just like Wall-Streets.

You would be able to select three different market categories and then three item categories to view.

Is it delayed at all or is it an instant system to see prices in jita?

To help keep lag down the delay would be comparable to how many jumps you were away from the system in question. For each system that was between you and the target system would equal a 2 second delay in the ticker response. So if your were 30 jumps away from a targeted system your wait time between each ticker would be a minute.

I had the same idea tonight, but thought I'd check F&I first. Instead of it's own special rules, tho, we should use as much existing code as possible to minimize server load and build complexity.

Region wide, like the current market view. You can select a station, system, or region to monitor just like the market filter. All it's doing is watching a single item and polling the market in 5 min increments to refresh price data. The player can bring up the market itself if they want the up to the second price.

Have it monitor as many items as you want, but each item monitored need to be in your market quick bar under it's own folder.

Doing this turns the market ticker from it's own standalone tool, to a simple in-game data miner using pre-existing and readily available data. No need for a recode.

This would also be an awesome Android/IPhone/general mobile app for devices. I task the CCP dev in charge of mobile applications to implement this as an app with a home screen widget, seeings how we haven't seen anything from the mobile dept at all Pirate
