Hi all,

I have just started out on eve online and i'm having a really good time however I am not sure what to do next and I want to make an informed decision.

I have tried out the missions and I'm not a big fan of them but I have enjoyed ratting in high sec. Currently I am ratting in 0.5 sec and having a blast with killing npc's and salvaging. I do want to move along to the next stage at some point and I'm preparing to do some low sec ratting (also I plan on figuring out anomalies) but I am not sure which ship to choose.

My plan is to go for a Rupture with a salvager fitted and see what money I can make being extra careful to warp out if anyone warps in. Would this be a good idea and what would be a good fit?

I would also try the Stabber or stay in my Thrasher if that would be a better idea and if I could find a good fit.

Please let me know if I have a good plan and any you have any Rupture or suitable Minmatar fits that would work please.

Thanks for reading!

Holister

EDIT:
This is the current Rupture fit I'm thinking of getting -

4 x 425mm Medium Prototype Automatic Cannons
Salvager I
Large Shield Extender II
Large Shield Extender II
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Experimental 10MN Microwarpdrive I
3 x Gyrostabilizer II
Tracking Enhancer II
Damage Control II
Medium Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
2 x Medium Core Defense Field Extender I

Thrasher is a little bit weak for lowsec ratting, it is possible but it will take you a long time to kill Battleship sized rats. Also there are certain rats in lowsec that are quite tough called Clone Soldiers, they hit really hard and have quite alot of hitpoints. Personally I would go for a Stabber mainly because it has 2 utility highs so you can have a salvager and a cloak to perform the MWD + Cloak trick, or else you will lose alot of ships to gatecamps. Probably something like this:

[Stabber, Low-Sec Ratting]

Medium Armor Repairer II
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Damage Control II

Experimental 10MN Microwarpdrive I
10MN Afterburner II
Cap Recharger II
Medium Capacitor Battery II

220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, Hail M
220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, Hail M
220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, Hail M
220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, Hail M
Salvager II
Improved Cloaking Device II

Medium Projectile Burst Aerator I
Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I

Hobgoblin II x5

Dps is a little bit low, but probably enough. It is hard to catch and with the afterburner you should be able to speed tank the clone soldiers decently. This is kinda based off my Stabber Fleet Issue that I run in an active armor fit, it can belt rat quite well too.

Thank you for the reply. It looks nice. I'm going to start saving up for one and skilling up for it.

Thanks again.

the stabber fit above looks a little overtanked to me, but better safe than sorry i guess. also, i don't think you need both an afterburner and a microwarpdrive. a tracking computer and one gyrostabilizer might prove more effective. this is something you should find out for yourself though.

I should buy an Ishtar.

The mwd is for travelling around low sec with extra security and for getting to range of belt rats when you warp in.

As for tank quite probably overtanked but yeah once you get out and about you'll figure out better tank/gank numbers that work for you.

That is the Way, the Tao.

Balance is everything.

The tank is a little on the high side yes, but as mentioned the Clone Solider rats hit really hard and you need to get under their guns very quickly or they can easily break your tank before you can establish a close orbit. The MWD is for the MWD + Cloak trick which when executed properly will allow you run even massive insta-lock T3 gatecamps, you have to get the hang of doing it perfectly though.
