It is so F***king stupid how you have to constantly grind l1s l2s and l3s to get to l4s and l5s like say your 10 standing points away from standing 5.0 (4.90) and you complete a l3 mission but instead of the game rounding the standing up it only gives you 2 more standing points, so you have to do another boring l3 mission only because you are 8 points away from 5.0 that is just crap, and needs to be fixed to lower mission grind in this game who else agrees?

Forest Gump said it best "stupid is as stupid does".

If you think it's stupid, do something else. There's a lot more to the game than mission grinding.

Guess while you're at it, eve should also remove training times, ship tiers etc, and just implement a button to click which instantly gives you 100000000000000000 isk and all ships and everything on the market? Why have any progression at all right?

Edit: if you really need to use swearwords in your posts, please grow up and realise they do not bring anything to your post other than making you look like a swearing kid: cute but easily ignored ;)

Have to expend time and effort some where or the economy is meaningless.

Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.  - William Pitt

let me cheer you up... L4s are boring as well.
same missions only you get Battleships instead of cruisers and such.

Better income at that but same boring grind.
Nice to get some quick capital isk for other activities though.

You should train Connections 3 so you only have to do one level 1 mission.

Of course once you have faction standing of 1, you never have to do lower level 1 missions again for that faction.

Same for higher levels: if you have 5 faction standing, you can just do level 4 for any corp in that faction.

I rarely do missions now. When I found it wrecking my faction standings on other empires, it stopped being worth it.
It's a pity that courier missions etc. lower standings.

aslong as you decline missions which act specifically against other factions, you should be fine. (you can check your opponent by looking at the icon next to the mission location, if that's a faction, decline it and go to another agent, you get one free decline every 4 hours). storyline missions always raise the faction they're for and the allied faction, and drop half for the enemy faction and their ally. so if you spread your missioning around a bit, you shouldn't tank any faction standing but come out ahead :)

No no dont come mining. You dont have the attention span for it.

How about PI. PI is super exciting and awesome. You can have three PI toons on one account ya know. You wont know whet to do with all the isk you wont be making.

They say most of your brain shuts down on the EvE forums. All but the impatient side, and the sarcastic side. No wonder I'm still awake.

Inb4 lock under rant rule but I'll contribute something before that happens:

If you don't want to run Lower level missions pay 400 mill and run the data center missions for your faction (Train Social to V first for maximum benefit) this will give you 5.0+ factional standings for the faction you ran them and you will have access to EVERY level 4 agent who is a member of that respective faction.

Training social skills (as mentioned above) also reduces the grind. Connections and Social are the main ones. Social increases the standing gain each time you get a standing tick and Connections increases your effective standing.

Beyond that all I can really say is stop being lazy. If you could get everything you want the day you start playing you would be playing World of Warcraft.

Changing lvl 1-3 mission pay outs so they are a lot better would solve a lot of the grind feel.
Though lvl 3's aren't 'too' bad if run with the silly OP Ishtar with it's Battleship level fire-power thanks to five sentry drones. Which is known to be OP for this purpose really.

But lvl 1-3 missions could be in general buffed, lvl 1-2 Especially could be massively buffed making them actually feel like a worthwhile income. Which would also help remove the 'need' that makes a new player feel they have to get to lvl 4 missions to get a real income. (Yes, I know it's not a need, but the way EVE is presented it makes sense to get an income before you leave High Sec in a serious way to have something to fall back on).

Not for the mission progression no.
However, standings could sure benefit from being decoupled from some of the mechanics that currently rely on it. Alternatively, missions should be decoupled from standings gain — having it be the sole means of accessing jump clones, refining efficiency, and tax breaks is pretty stupid since none of those have anything to do with missions.
