I really don't have a clue what this post is about. However, I found it irresistibly charming.
I challenge anyone to translate this into something that makes sense. I would but I have to go pee.

I'll have a go.

I think he did the right thing and searched the forum for threads about including HTML tags in posts.

Finding several old threads that have been locked (they all seem to lock after a while), he's asking if anyone knows why you can't include HTML tags in a post, specifically in his case, in a post for himself or his Corp in the recruitment forum.

Answer:

Like all forums, the inclusion of HTML-like tags is limited to only a few possibilities for security reasons. This forum in particular is more limited than you'll see in others (eg. No images or video) because we can't be trusted not to forum pvp with those tags and turn the forum into more of a battleground than it already seems to be at times.

I have found that any form of HTML style brackets will trigger the warning.

If I try and put -Bananas- with the - replaced with the Less than and Greater than signs appropriately, It triggers the warning.

If you have a Shift + , or Shift + . key (arrows? ) then it assumes you have an html tag even though you don't.

The issue is that you're trying (unwittingly or not) to use HTML tags in a post. You're not allowed to because if HTML was enabled, we'd have people doing silly things with their posts, such as making their text blink and scroll across the screen using all the colours of the rainbow.

If you're trying to post a link of some sort, make sure you use bbcode which utilises square brackets ("[ or ]" instead of "< or >"). Also check your post thouroughly for any erroneous symbols that may be causing the issue.

Allowing html in posts requires far more sanitization of what goes into posts.

And requires updates every time someone comes out with a new tag (or limitation to a very specific set of tags).

It's a PITA. Cross site scripting is massive security risk.

(if you think you're not putting in html, it's probably because you have a < next to another character, other than a space. that'll do it)
