I've just returned to the game, and I noticed the Prophecy seems to have had a major overhaul into a drone boat, so I'm wondering how it stacks up against the Myrmidon now for doing L3 and L4 missions. I'm considering it for low sec missioning.

Myrmidon has a greater drone bandwidth, so that would be my choice for missions.

Neither can't really do lvl 4 missions without massively lowering their damage output due to tanking issues and as stated above, the Myrm can field 4 sentries and the Proph only 3 so that'll be an easy choice.

Would an Ishtar fair better?

well, ofc. thought since the question was about t1 bcs you couldn't fly anything else.

the ishtar got a nice buff, it still flies like the old ishtar, so completion time wont be great, but its definitely doable.

and if by "doing missions" you mean blitzing, then definitely, the ishtar is the way to go, specially if you will step into lowsec for some of the blitzable ones.

The Myrmidon has:

- more damage
- better tank
- more med slotts (Cap, Propulsion and Tracking)
- 5 turret hardpoints (instead of 4 + 4 missile launchers)
- more shield (more buffer before you have to activate your armorrep, in some missions you dont even need to rep)

it is slightly slower but thats a minor drawback, it is the better ship overall
