haven't logged in yet... But from reading the forums I've go this to say about the patch

I'm at work, and won't be able to log in till tomorrow. But after reading the patch notes, if the biggest thing people are complaining about is a more readable yet uglier font


this patch has got to be a huge freaking success.

I love the new font. I don't log off with migraines now.

I know sometimes it's difficult to realize just how much you spend on incidental things each month or year, but seriously, EVE is very cheap entertainment compared to most things... If you are a smoker, smoke one less pack a week and pay for EVE, with money left over to pick up a cheap bundle of flowers for the EVE widow upstairs.

There were a few added features to the patch not mentioned in the notes. The Navy edition Naga for example.

more likely they're complaining because they're not used to it. If most forget about it in a few weeks, then it wasn't really that big of a change. I'm not a fan of its larger size, as it requires me to make all my windows larger, but its really not that terrible.

This. People complain about every change made. I challenge the most bitter of biter vets to remember one change, no matter how positive, that was not accompanied by complaining by at least someone.

People even say that the new font is more readable by they still don't like it. The only explanation is that people just hate change because it makes the get used to something new.

Patch is not a success. Still only 20-25k people online during a patch day. Don't really think anything can save EVE unless you give actual content.

I have more space likes than you.

I think they would have had less problems with people QQing if they had released this before Incarna or with Incarna. This is the best since Trinity imo.

I agree, this is the best patch since I've been playing...all the little fixes and tweaks really add up.

As for new content, the new BCs and Gallente boosts are pretty cool in my opinion. There are a lot of new PVP scenarios now.

I am a 7 year vet now, and I love this patch, excluding the font. They nerfed my super caps, they added and fixed a ton of stuff I like and appreciate. That does not mean that we can not state the one thing which is terrible, the font. We told them ahead of time, in multiple threads, and they did not listen. So now we will whine and complain until it is fixed, just like ship spinning.

Us "bitter vets" who have supported CCP for years now are the reason they still exist, and are the reason they suddenly came back to focusing on Eve instead of sparkly vampires and barbie dolls. I've played and paid for Eve longer than most CCP employees have worked for CCP. I have lived and loved the old Eve font, and found it fully functional for 7 years now. I believe I am in a position to express my opinion and be respected for it. My corp mates, my alliance mates, and my countless internet Eve "friends" know better than CCP Punkwhateverthefuckhernameis what font is good for Eve.

We used to play in wormhole space, I can't imagine how happy wormholers are right now with the new corp bookmarks.

I agree with the font thing. You get used to it though, after a couple weeks of playing around on SISI it didn't bother me as much, still don't like it but I'm used to it now.

That's pretty normal. The patch day itself rarely generates any huge numbers — people are waiting to patch, are having early post-release issues — and they happen on Tuesdays, which are low-pop days anyway.

The real test will be Saturday and Sunday.

As understand it, they now have the mechanism in place to more easily change fonts. So I imagine it'll be sooner than later.

I suspect there will race specific fonts(which can be selected) released, with the current ugly one assigned to the caldari cause..well, they are ugly.

How do you like that!

Dismissing others as complainers somehow makes their issues irrelavent? Both camps, pro and anti font have legit issues. I don't like the new font, actually I hate it, but I didn't like the old one either. Lets just call it a swing and a miss by CCP.

Yeah I have a feeling the new patch was a success. Apart from the font thing its pretty calm in the forums, which should be a positive indicator considering the last expansions. And there are lots of little things people might come to love in the long run.

I guess Eve is heading in the right direction again. Time to re-subscribe your accounts. ;)
