when did missiles change? I could swear they used to all be the same range within a class (IE light, heavy, cruise) and the same damage, and you chose the ones to use dependant on who youre using them against so that you got the most damage against the rats' resistances (like in missions) but now some are longer range than others, some do more damage as well.

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

They're pretty consistent across classes.

Faction is where it gets muddled, as well as T2 missiles like Javelin and Rage. Overall though, Caldari Navy for the win, like with damn near everything else.

What I mean is the last time I was in game, they were the same range dependant on the class (like all heavies are the same range/damage - not HAMs though). I was just in a World's Collide using EM vs some sansha in a mission and my range was 125 km. When I switched to Novas for the Angel, it changed and my range was like 90 km or something. When I looked at the charges themselves, I noticed they were even different damages

In before Tengu whines.

We all know you can't have a missile conversation without a good Tengu whine or twelve.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

That's... not right.

Unless you swapped to Rage Novas, or you had started out using Javelin Novas, that should not be the case.

The only difference between different missiles of the same class (e.g. Fury Heavy Missiles) is the damage type.
If you're comparing loaded charges to unloaded charges some numbers will be different because the loaded charges take into account your skills.

If you're loading charges, looking at the numbers, and then loading different charges, the only thing that should be different is the damage types and on certain ships the damage amount (since certain ships only have bonuses to specific missile damage types, usually kinetic).

Angel/Sansha mission, so quite unlikely.

On a side note, man, rapid missile launcher... Gives me an extra hundred dps but that reload speed.

Hows it give such a boost in DPS when you have such a long reload time (35s for me) every 19 shots?

Because the DPS is calculated for the time that you're firing.

I forget, does EFT calculate it with reload time as a factor, or not? I'm at work or I'd check myself.

That's an option you can change. The default is the same as EVE: calculated without reload time.

cba to check for sure but they've litmited the range on RLML so it might be what you're talking about. I remember my cara used to have better range with LMs.

So - maybe you checked the range for one type on a ship with LML and then saw different value on RLML?

and a PS - the RLML used to be even worse, with smaller capacity and slightly longer reload. For a month or so before they buffed it (and nerfed the range) but still.
