With the salvage drones and mobile tractor beams, its obvious CCP wants to speed up the clean up process.
Just two things I'd like to get other peoples opinions on

Now, Im only talking about the tractor beam module. NOT the mobile tractor unit(MTU for later refenrence).

Ability to tractor beam lost drones.
- It makes retreiving easier. Well not so much but it would make stealing easier and thats the point really.
- It would make stealing others lost drones easier.
- Stealing drones.
- Yeah, stealing. Just to add profit to a pirate life.

Ability to tractor beam a MTU(mobile tractor unit)
- Can set up collection points
- Easier to manage the 5000m min distance from a MTU to another MTU
- Would enable stealing other peoples MTUs
- Just makes sense, we should be able to tractor a !-mobile-! tractor unit.
- Hell, you could reach a new level of lazy and tractor a mobile tractor unit while you are mobile so your tractor tractoring a mobile tractor unit does all the mobile tractoring for you.

As a droneboater, I'd love to be able to use my salvage boat's tractor beams to scoop up all my abandoned drones, rather than having to tediously fly to each of them with a Noctis that has the maneuverability of a drunken space whale.

What would happen if you tractored a MTU within 5km or less of another MTU then ?

Also, by stealing someone else's MTU, you meant scoop them into your cargohold or simply trucking it along while the owner spammed local in rage ?

Yo dawg, I heard you like to tractor, so we let you tractor your tractor while your tractor tractors.

... I'm sorry.

If you tractor a MTU within 5km of another MTU; one of them wont work. Simple

And by stealing I mean.. if you approach a ship that has a MTU deployed, they will take all loot from the MTU before you can get anywhere near them.

With the ability to tractor other players MTU, it makes it viable. Whether or not you get flagged for looting the MTU or not, well.. Im not sure, I've never been able to get antoher players MTU

Stealing from another player's containers should flag you as a suspect only. Not opposed to the idea of having access to the container as long as it has a penalty since unprepared players need more consequences.

However, I don't see how it would change anything though. Decent players will simply scoop their MTU as soon as you enter grid before you even lock the MTU, better players will be prepared as soon as they see your ship on D-Scan and afk players MTU's can be locked, reached and/or shot at anyway.

Could you elaborate more, specially concerning which kind of capsuleers you wish to target with this change of the ingame mechanics ?

As far as lost drones are concerned, no problems there, surprised it hasnt been implemented yet.

Im mainly talking about increasing the chances of stealing loot from MTU. Like you said, anyone with any sense will empty their MTU once an unknown player enters grid or approaches their MTU. With the ability to tractor MTUs, it wont tip the favour to the pirate but does increase their chances a bit.

Why do you abandon your drones?

To my understanding you cannot tractor anything that doesn't belong to you. If you want to steal go out and get it... Stop being so lazy LOL
