Playing alone can be nice, quiet and quite relaxing whereas comms and corp banter can be quite annoying with the one douchebag who constantly yells on TSP because nobody lives with him or would want too or he lives in his parents basement.

Benefits of playing alone.

1. No obnoxious pilots on comms.

2. No constant requests to come help boost mining ops or scout gates.

3. No soliciting for some stupid cause in RL that the pilot is doing this weekend.

4. No requests for ships or fittings and or processing requests.

What did I miss?

Until recently, I was always on comms, skype, IRC etc with someone. I was almost always fleeted up when undocked.

Only when I would sneak away to do FW would I find any quiet time. I really like quiet time.

Familiarity breeds contempt and all that.

It didn't take long to locate the tracking beacon, deep inside the quarters for sleepin' They thought they could get away Not today, it's not the way that this kid plays

A solo alt is good for when you want to do something that's potentially risky, embarrassing, or just plain stupid. You can't embarrass your corp mates, and you can't embarrass yourself in front of your corp mates.

And if you set up a one-man corp, you can give yourself lots of useless titles and medals. Smile

Because generally people suck.

That's been my unfortunate expereince with MMOs.

Aww, that is sad Cry

I agree many, especially in Eve, are muppet headed knuckle dragging dorks, but there are good people out there as well. I mission alone alot but am always in a social chat channel when alone so I at least have others to talk with, that helps alot.

Been playing alone for 4 years now...

Been in good corps that get completely poisoned by one or two new people coming in. Eventually I quit.

Any others ever just play alone successfully?

Back in my younger years, before I became the steaming hot pack of man meat the ladies fall over one-another to get to, I did.

Happy lone time and don't think about me.

I really need to spend more time looking at thread titles. Glancing at this one had me thinking this was going to be a whole different topic.

I often have fun playing alone (been doing it for nearly the last year), but I've never felt like I needed a secret alt to do it. When you're in a grove powering anomalies or you're running a deadspace site, being alone is a nice blanket of security and comfort.

"**CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"**

Never forget.

While I usually play together with other people, I have no qualms about going dark for a while to do some PVE or roam solo. It's hard to combine with CEOship as there's usually something that needs attention, but sunday morning comes to mind. Coffee, 420, everyone shuts up and I work on my sec stat / wallet for a bit. I'll hang around chat / intel channels but mute my mike, by the time DT hits people are usually awake enough to go roam or do something as a fleet. Lol

Main advantage of playing alone: Snubbing your nose at every stupid new idea that CCP tries to shove down our throats to make multiple-accounts into the only valid playstyle.

Going to a bar or club is something I do when I want to socialise with friends.

Playing EVE is something I do when I just want to do my own thing.

It's a good achievement to be successful with solo play.

I currently run an unknown alt acct. 1 man highsec Indy thing.

If anyone can keep a POS up and pay for PLEX without any help, they won a part of EVE...

1. almost never as we purge them
2. Never ever happens.
3. Never ever happens
4. sometimes fitting discussions happen. They are not annoying.
5. Can someone light me a cyno in system xxxx is the most common. but enough people normally rush to help that it isn't annoying.

I do have a market alt that can run lvl 3's for rep and relaxing and a FW alt that no one knows about. But I always have at leat jabbar up so i don't miss anything important
