We've been asking for it for a while, and now that we have a taste of it, I say it's a resounding success, so far.
The return of the "Cop Comet" is much welcome and brings back a lot of old happy memories for many of us.

Most of us understand that if the program continues in it's current form, what we have is a bunch of player-made "special edition" ships with a higher value, and putting more stress on the servers with new item ID's to render.
*IF* that's how ship painting continues, can we expect to see unique hulls for the pirate faction ships and new skins for all our ships in the style of the NPC pirates we're always seeing in belts and missions? I wouldn't mind having an EoM Pilgrim, or a Guristas Ferox, to be honest. That'd be kind of awesome.

I'll save my suggestions for the round-table discussions or face-to-face interactions at EVE Vegas (if this will be open as a topic of discussion)... but CCP may have already thought of what I figured. We'll see. But this is the wrong forum for bringing out ideas, so I'll leave it at that.

So far, though... those of us who love it, love it. Those of us who don't... well, they're the folks who are going to complain no matter what.

Blood Raider paint job for Oracle!

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

So many nice paint jobs were featured in Eve:Source, most of them were Pirate battlecrusiers as well as some other ships (Serpentis Comet!!!! Guristas Ferox!!!! Etc!!!!) A good start CCP would be to get those skins on the market because they rank very very high on the sexiness scale!

I would gladly dish out money for an Intaki Syndicate themed Megathron....

Yet another CCP disappointment, which we've all come to accept as par for the course.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

My first impressions are that they need to correct all the graphical anomalies introduced:

• Bizarre and differing color schemes on the Tengu (reflective dark grey to matte light grey)
• Drastically altered colors for the Amarr: silver to gold, gold to bronze, red to pink and black to slate grey
• Missing ship running lights (blinking) and the drone bay force fields (missing from all battleships and carriers)

With respect to the ship skins themselves, I think they need to go a bit further and adjust ship lights to match the scheme. For instance, on the Kador Abaddon the yellow lights in front should probably be white or blue-white, as they look at tad off.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

A couple of the replies are just proving my last point.

Really want to see "pirate" paint jobs, next.
I'm almost certain that every fellow Ferox jockey out there would LOVE to have Guristas or Mordu's Legion colors on our most beloved battlecruiser.

"Meh".. because it's not the DIY customization util we all wanted.

Nice skins though, if you like that sort of thing and don't mind LOOKING LIKE EVERYONE ELSE that owns one... funny that.

Do the server's render the ships, or the game client?

I don't 100% know what the split is, but would think the game client holds the data for rendering the ships.

If that is the case, blooming the number of available paint schemes may lead to larger patches to update the data every day.

That'll be fun.

Aside from that, I like the option to pimp my ship.

Let us paint ships in primer gray and black (and red too).

Then bring back the Intaki mullet.

Gotta get my space trailerpark on.

CCP says they're trying to make that happen, but the load on the system (I think ships are rendered, client-side, but I don't recall) needs to be evaluated, first.

My honest suggestion (not going in-depth, because this isn't an F&I thread) is to add two new slots to every ship.... one for paint scheme and one for logo. If T3's can render as one item ID, regardless of subsystem configuration, the skins for paint scemes should be doable as well.
We might not see that change for a while, and I think AUR microtransactions are a good way to recoup the diversion of dev assets. Most of us are willing to do it that way.

Pre-defined colors aren't interesting. At least present - extremely dull - set. How long do we have to wait for Quafe Nightmare skin and how many hundreds $$$ will it cost?

Ugh, Please No... as players we cant be trusted with full customization control. Too many people would simply troll the game by making the most god-awful looking designs they can.

Eve has an amazing art team for a reason.
