if people are invading your missions while you're in a velator, then they're probably targeting you because you're a new player. Definitely just go run the tutorial missions as they'll send you to various different places. I think I've only had people come into my missions 2-3 times EVER.

I know this game is considered the space version of WoW, but being unable to complete missions due to outside interference should be unacceptable.

Thanks for the links. I am on a free account testing the game out to see if I like it. I haven't even started training anything yet. From what I just read, I don't think I will be playing this game much longer. IMO this game is built around and rewards criminal mentality/actions

I am sure people complete missions all the time, its just I wasn't able to complete the 5 I tried. Pilots have gone blinky red in local, I didn't know it allowed me to attack them. I am sure if I do I will face 3-4 of them and get podded

It seems strange to me this game would offer a wide variety of gameplay options to attract new players and then make it extremely difficult to accomplish those options by making it easy for criminal pilots

You haven't started training yet? That's bad bad bad. You pretty much can't do anything without it. It's also odd that you're out running missions without doing the tutorials. If you were doing those, you'd be in a noob system and players aren't allowed to mess with noobs in noob systems. Something about your thread is a little off...

I think people are mis-reading my post(s) or adding their own spin to them. To clarify: I wanted a change in genre. I asked the EQ and EQ2 players about EVE. I got its just like WoW, a pvp game with a splash of pve, full of griefers, and I wouldn't like the game mechanics of either one.

I haven't played WoW as it is a fantasy game. I thought it would be neat to fly spaceships and try to get into a different game and see how I would fare. A friend who plays EQ gave me access to his EVE account since he wanted to sell it. This character was supposed to be used as a trader. I was given two weeks to see if I like the game enough to pay for it. I hadn't started training as I have no idea what I want to do in the game or even if I want to continue playing this game.

I think people are concentrating on the "EVE is considered the space version of WoW" and trying to defame me more than the rest of the original post. I didn't know that was the ultimate insult to the EVE community and apologize for it.

I won't post again as this games community is not what I want to be a part of. I will return the account back to my friend and suggest he cancel it.

A very nice try. But having just admitted to account sharing, you can expect a perma ban shortly. Good luck.

I am "a resident carebear" in npc noob corp. I have players enter my missions maybe 3-4 times a YEAR. And I run Level 4 missions that are actually worth something. So. Please continue trolling. But don't waste time explaining yourself, your explanations are pitiful.

okay, I believe you. you've obviously never played WoW.

Yeah its complicated. Was this your first attempt to seek help or what? You clearly don't understand very much. Do the tutorials, ask for help in rookie chat or corp chat. It sounds like you haven't tried very hard.

I am highly skeptical that CCP combs the forums for account sharing, or that the random ISD or dev that sees this post would even care in this context.

So you mean it is the developers intention to ensure people who run missions can never complete them?

I found that if someone salvages a wreck they can loot the cargo container at will since it no longer belongs to me. I don't get anything saying I can attack them

If I read the literature correctly, mission pockets only exist after I accept the mission. Since they were not their prior to that, the public shouldn't be able to access them

Mission pockets spawn at a random locations within known space, accessible to all. They are not private dungeons, and can be scanned down by probes.

You can use probes to scan down ships inside the missions area, and you can use dscan to find wrecks, but there is no way to scan the area it self.

Exploration sites can be scanned down, and FW missions publicly revival their location first time you warp to the area.

That's what I meant, sorry for being unclear.

I made the same mistake when I was a noob, I used to hapilly run missions in low sec as I didn't have a clue about security statuses and thought mission areas were my own private little domain that no one else could enter.

For all of that though I never once came to any harm or saw anyone enter my mission area in low sec. I have been ninja'd once in high sec though, but the dumbass got killed by one of the mission rats so I looted his ship and picked up some nice stuff (as he hadn't emptied the cargo hold from his last victim).

Good times lol!

if you are trial you run lvl1-lvl2 missions. I really not sure if someone could come and steal your stuff in this case Shocked

However with your attitude 'WoW in space' i'm not sure it would be good for you to stay in Eve Online for long...

it's funny, but i was missioning for the first 1.5 years of my eve career and i had exactly 3 people who were entering my pocket. 2 of them was in my first trial week in my first lvl 1 missions...

there really are some people that must be so bad that they only look to pester new players... the op said that they were calling him names even. fits exactly that stereotype :)

Yes, we do care actually. Quite vehemently.
If we stumble on threads (or better yet, get pointed at threads) where people admit to have broken the EULA, they get reported to the GM's. Without exception. So please use the report button when you find such a thread so we can take action.

This thread gets a lock as the OP has effectively openly admitted to account sharing. From there on the discussion can only move in a bad direction. And we don't want that, now do we....Blink

Edit: Also the OP doesn't seem to exist any more. Now if I where a less nice person I would say : Good riddance...Evil
