Hi every1!

Ive started planning the Gallente Epic Arc and as ive read up on alot of the missions is quite abit harder than lvl4s.

Ive awesome droneskills and was thinking going in with a droneboat ,but as its alot harder than lvl4s i want to check what ships people who has allready done the ARC is recommending.

All drone support skills maxed, can use t2sentrys, mids and lights. heavy is still at lvl 4:S

So in short, im a Gal/Min pilot up to Battleships, awesome droneskills and okeyish gunneryskills.

What ships are prefered? suggestions with a fit would be totally awesome!

Thanx for the help guys!

I did it with a Dominix / Ishtar combination, but had to remote rep. the Ishtar quite a lot.
A well-tanked Dominix is able to withstand the fire, as long as you don't run out of cap.

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.

The first 2/3 of the arc should be easy for you, as long as you can tank a mission like The Assault with no problem. The last 1/3 is more like 'Serpentis Blockade' on Steroids you will be damped down to 12 km targeting range while taking a metric ton of DPS from ships that close at 1400m/s. The last two missions 'Studio One' and 'Showtime' is a real test of a tank vs. gank, good luck.

If your a little nervous bring a friend to share the aggro, and use the mission guides to know what your running into before you get there.

Oh and another note, if possible bring a mobile tractor unit and keep a Noctis (Or any other salvaging boat) handy, I think I banked 400 mil in loot and salvage, above and beyond mission rewards, when I did it last (3 weeks ago).

BTW; I do them every 90 days in a Machariel; either 1400dps 800mm auto-cannons or 1100dps 1400mm artillery, both fits have a 1000dps+ burst tank.

Things that keep me up at night;  Why do we use a voice communication device to send telegraphs? Moore's Law should state, Once you have paid off the last PC upgrade you will need another.

Im quite allright in a domi, but ive been doing the MJD/sentry setup on lvl 4s, so the rats doesnt really get close. As i see u mention frigs up at 1400ms, maybe its better to go all out tank? What kinda dps should i look at in the domi? Fits? :D

Sorry I should have been more specific, 'Syndicate Elite Battleship' (11 of them IIRC) close at speeds up to 1400m/s. So yes go in with lots of tank, because they might get to you before your MJD finishes it's cool down for your next jump.

You might bring a mobile depot, so when you get the heavy DPS off the field you can refit for more Gank and clean up the room quicker.

This is why i use a autocannon fit dual prop (MJD/AB) armor mach for the epic arc (I know I know, armor mach = blasphemy lol). I mjd away from them then keep at range with the AB on. They are still faster but I just chew them apart with the ACs as they approach. Lots of fun.

tips:

one of the early missions REQUIRES a salvager module.

Don't die in "assistance." mercenary overlords are on a timed set of spawns, you will be webbed to **** but if you pre-spawn with pod, come in at range, or mjd out while webed (no scrams), you'll be fine.

the lowsec route is fast and pays well. if you can bring a covert t3 its definitely worth doing. If you're bringing badass battleships you can take the hisec route. DO NOT FORGET THE CARRY-ON TOKEN.

Remember to mwd straight to the carry-on hub to despawn and complete the mission without firing a shot.

Studio 1 can be blitzed by tanking the spawns and killing the structure.

I dual boxed the gallente epic arc with a raven and typhoon, both range/cruise fit. As long as you warp in at max range (warp squad to 100), they're not hard at all. Take out the nuisance ewar and fast closing BS dps and then wipe the field. Sorry I don't have tips for a solo pilot. This arc, like the Caldari, has lots of annoying ewar/damping/etc. Being able to pull the aggro to one pilot while destroying the nuisance ships with the other is a priceless advantage.

Sounds like a challenge for my Vargur. Will have to give it a go.

Doing them with two ships does help to get those sensor dampers off you for a bit - although I didn't found it to be too much of an issue. It's pretty much only a problem in the Studio I mission. (The Caldari&Amarr arc are much more annoying for EWAR.)

Generally any BS will do just fine - just remember to align to something after using the MJD, so that you can always warp off if NPCs close in too quickly. Of course, a Marauder will be much better if you can fly it, as you are immune to EWAR in bastion mode.

And I'm not sure that I'll recommend the low-sec route to a relatively new player as the OP. Rendezvous is pretty tough for a low-sec mission - while I did complete it in an AF, I had to warp in and out extremely often, as it's a lot more damage than I expected and target painters screw up speed tanking. Sure, if you have a T3 or a HAC, it should be no problem, but if you can't fly either, you might end up having to bring a BC or BS to low.

Thanx alot for all the input! Im probably gonna try doing it in a MJD Domi with sentrys as my main dmg, and if i have to warp out to much ill try call for a friend to help out! But defently gonna try soloing this, challenge accepted!!

Im reading up on the lowsec route as we speak since i got the ishtar and sentrys to clean up the field. Go with a shield ish or a normal armortanked with abit less dps? :s
