Dont listen to these kind of idiots.

Prolly the same kind of people that run lvl4 missions 23/7 and are scared of everything that does not have "Gurista" infront of its name.

Even in a frigate you can be usefull

or just look at this ;)

Find a good corp with a helpfull community. You will prolly have to wander around for a bit.

There are plenty of different PVP Styles in EVE.

FW, Piracy, Empire Mercs, Null Sec (BLOC) Warfare and a lot of skirmish PVP.

Not to mention Wormholers as well :)

Dont try to fly anything super expensive you cannot even handle / fit properly . You will be useless and there will be a lot of people making fun of your ship losses.

Go with Tackle frigates and work yourself up to cruisers and above.

Find a corp that can provide you with tips on how to fly these ships , properly fit them and maybe even provide the ship hulls.

If you just drop into some random FW corp, chances are you will be frustrated and that you will hate it.

Gallente FW has a few very good PVP corps.
I dont know how "newbie friendly" they are but other than that :

EVE University
Red vs. Blue
Brave Newbies
and Goonswarm Federation

are perfect places to go.

As a CFC member I can tell you that Goons will provide you plenty of ISK. Help and free ship hulls and will help you out with weekly newbie training fleets and skillplans.

I dont want to spam you with "propaganda" before all the n3 lurkers come at me :p but you should give it a try.

Dont get frustrated if you cannot find a PVP style / Corp that suits you right away. Stick with cheap but useful ships like Ewar Cruisers and Tackle frigs until you have enough skills to fly everything else. As I mentioned before. Wander around a bit and try to find a group of people you like. With good friends everything in this game can be fun.

Hope I could help you out a bit

FW is fine and all. But it is by no means the only way for new or low SP toons to PvP.

To be honest, what matters is who you fly with. Just joining FW will land you in a mostly empty militia chat with tons of people doing nothing but waiting for SOMEONE ELSE to FC a fleet. If you're willing to lead, others will follow. But if you are looking for leaders, they are found in dedicated player owned corps, not militia.

Like anything in Eve, if you want to do something, you are best off committing to it and finding others that are as well. This means joining a corp that does whatever content you are interested in. Doesn't really matter if that is FW, null sec, Incursions, etc....honestly, targeting someone and blowing them up is pretty similar regardless of where you do it.

Anything that will get you blown up with regularity will end up becoming a very expensive habit. This makes many of the large null sec alliances quite attractive. Most have piles of isk to outfit new players with fast tackle ships for free, offer skill books for free, run dedicated training fleets, and of course...offer an SRP.

Most null alliances are also very 'top heavy' with high SP players that want to fly their shiny T3's rather than a Sabre. New players are not looked down upon, but rather, free up high SP toons to fly the big/shiny ships. It works both ways- we'd rather new players stick with small hulls they are more highly skilled in than just whatever is the biggest thing they can barely undock. Likewise- if I have to leave my battleship to fly a Dictor, that's a bunch of firepower lost to fly a ship a player with a month or so in Eve can fly.

Lastly, null sec has a slight edge over low sec for small hull ships.
1) The lack of gate/station guns is an immediate boon to people in small hulls. I was a pirate in low sec for awhile, and always felt like "real" PvP took place in bigger ships than I was flying, since I was so limited in where I could force a fight.

2) Null sec allows the use of both Bombs, and Bubbles. The ships that launch these weapons are small hulls, easily trained by new players. Additionally, Ceptors are suddenly extremely survivable in null sec- meaning that cheap frigate PvP is incredibly common in null sec right now.
Literally, the best ships for low SP toons looking to get into PvP to fly- are exactly the ones with Null Sec-specific mechanics.

I have said for years here- train to fly a Dictor. It takes no amount of time and virtually no fleet in null sec will undock without them. If you are a care bear and don't want to dedicate to PvP, but want to live in null and reap the rewards-- fly a Dictor and no one will ever care if you fly anything else in a PvP fleet. If you even have to buy replacement Dictors, your corp/alliance is doing it wrong.

You have too low SP right now to join my corp in Gallente. However, I would direct you to JUSTK's training corp, Caldari Colonial Defense Ministry. And like Stalking Mantis, perhaps one year from now, after millions of losses, you too will be accepted into a top notch pvp corp. /

i lol'd

that sounds very familar for some reason
