It happened right after I finished my first novice FW plex and as I was working on my second -- a medium sized plex. The timer was almost done when a Sentinel came in and cleaned my clock. Another guy in a frigate had joined in when I started the medium and he got crushed too. We were so close to completing the medium! Still though... it feels good to know that I can actually run plexes. Didn't know if I could figure out or get the job done. So this feels like the most progress I've made in the game so far.

A few questions about FW though...

1. To earn the most LP, do I want to focus on the systems in which the enemy has a high level of control? What does stable and lost mean if they are red or blue?

2. When the cruiser in the medium plex got destroyed I couldn't loot it. It was surrounded by a gold border and it wouldn't let me take anything.

3. I'm still not sure how I stumbled upon the available complexes with my d-scanner. I managed somehow, and got the green and red icons on my display, but I really don't know exactly what I did. Can someone ELI5 how to scan, warp to, and enter plexes?

4. Lastly... I got an email notification saying that I had earned 5000 for completing the novice plex by myself -- hurray! But then when I went to the LP store it still said that I only and about 1350 LP in my account! What gives? Do I have to spend the LP I earn from plexes in some special LP store or did I just not get the LP that the email said I got?

In friendly systems...
- "Stable" means that you will get no LP for running defensive complexes. You can't make it any more stable than it already is.
- "Lost" means that the enemy has captured enough complexes to make the iHUB (or "Bunker") vulnerable and have "blown it up." The system will belong to the enemy after the next downtime.

In hostile systems...
- "Stable" means that either no one has run any complexes in the system and/or the enemy has run them and all reduced influence to zero.
- "Lost" means that your side has captured enough complexes to make the iHUB (or "Bunker") vulnerable and have "blown it up." The system will belong to your side after the next downtime.

Run plexes whenever you can... though it is better to focus on certain systems that others are also working on. Team effort and all.

Though... if all you want to do is farm LP... then "backwater" systems far from the main points of conflict will work nicely.

Is your little "security button" next to your HUB set to green? If it is then you literally cannot do anything that will make you a "suspect." Looting a wreck that is not yours (such as NPCs that were not killed by you) will turn you into a "suspect" and make you shootable to anyone in the area...

Though... you typically should not have to worry about this with friendlies around. They should have their overview set up so that you will always show as friendly. If not, and if they shoot you, they will incur a significant standings hit to the Militia's faction (NOTE: many veteran FW people have little tolerance for friendly fire and WILL kill and "blacklist" you over this).

What I recommend? Be a man and set it red. Shoot and loot anything you please. Your security status will surely take a dive (which will eventually make you KOS in high-sec), but you will earn the respect of your peers and experience a "freedom" you never knew possible! Twisted

Use the left most tab on the D-Scanner. It should show any complexes that are open or unopened in a system. Right-click an entry and warp to it (at 10km so you don't get hung up on the acceleration gate).

Were other friendly militia people in the complex with you? If so, the reward was split evenly between you all... regardless of however long you have been there or contributed to its capture.

As for LP in general... you can spend it on items from special Loyalty Point stores found in stations that specifically belong to your Militia. Some of these items require ISK and/or extra materials to purchase... and some need to be built... but you can usually sell most things for a tidy little profit margin.
Be sure to check what certain items are going for on the open market before buying them just to be sure though.

No, I ran the novice plex by myself. I didn't join up with the other pilot until working on the medium plex. Either way... I received an email telling me that I earned 5000 LP (not some smaller amount) and it didn't show up when I opened up the LP store a short while afterwards. I assumed if I was getting some sort of percentage for the plex, or if it was divided by multiple players, that the email would state that I was receiving that lesser amount. But the email said I earned 5000 and it hasn't shown yet. Sad

Are you sure you were in the right store then?

If you were, then it is very possible that a friendly guy decloaked or warped in right as you were about the capture the complex and you didn't see it (sometimes I miss it too).

1. There are two types of plexes.
If the system is owned by your faction and you run a plex there - it is called a Defensive Plex (dplex) you get paid depending on how contested it is. As the contested % drops - so does the payout. You should not kill the rats in these plexes as they are your friends.

If the system is owned by your enemies faction - it pays a consistent amount. These are called Offensive plexes (Oplex). You will need to kill the rat to start the timer in these plexes.

Both types of plexs payouts are effected by the Tier your militia is currently hold at.

2. Set your safety to red. It must be set green. Always fly with safety set red in low sec. Always warp to plex gates at 10km so that you do not get stuck on the gate.

3. Just open your dscanner in any FW low sec system. The plexes available should show. Sometimes you need to tick and untick the 'show anomalies' box to refresh the scanner window. (Your last sentence in question 3 make no sense so I will ignore it)

4. You likely misread something or someone else shared in the LP payout. LP is split between the people in the plex who are within 30km of the button. There is also a very rare bug that happens where you wont get paid the LP on completing the plex.
So the 1350 was likely from a previous plex or kill. The 5000 might have just not paid due to a bug.
You do spend the LP in your factions store. There are stations with the correct LP stores scattered around each factions warzone.

I recommend you find a good player corp who is active in your TZ. They will teach you 234786237868 times more than these forums or a google search can.

Just to clarify... the 1350 LP in my account had been earned previously by running various missions. I received an email after I ran the novice plex (by myself) stating that I had earned 5000 LP. The next time I was docked I opened up an LP store window -- which sold ships belonging to my race/faction -- but my LP amount was still 1350.

grats on the pod loss , learn to spam warp to sun though :) normaly you should never lose pods in low sec unless lag or afk or disco ships on gates

You shouldn't lose your pod in lowsec. Read the lecture on avoiding it: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=3757908#post3757908

And ignore the pod losses on my killboard. They're just there to, um, show you what not to do.

The mission that you run i guess was not for the militia corporation that you joined. Every corporation has it's own LP store. You can check in your LOG "the icon on the right that looks like a book" and go to LP tab. In that tab you will see all the LP that you have gather for every corporation that you did missions for/ runned plexes for.

My guess is that you went to another station that didnt belong to your militia corporation so you only can use the LP that you've earned throw missioning.
Can you tell us what militia did you joined so we could give you a list of station where you can spend your LP?

Although you can 'always' get off grid from your attacker in lowsec (except in lag scenarios) and can 'always' get to a safe spot and bounce between safe spots while you have timers that prevent you logging off, there's no 100% safe way to reship without putting yourself at risk of being podded or having an alt/ally put additional assets at risk.

Basic diligence will drop your pod loss rate from ~50% to ~1%, however. An improved computer and running EVE on minimal settings will let you lower it further, to perhaps 0.2% or so, but no matter what you do, you will always be at risk when you dock or use a stargate in your escape capsule.
