Does anyone really use the "other" ships?

It feels like everyone I've met only uses ships from the four races, and ORE. (SoE sometimes if you're really lucky.)

Might be just me, but I can't ever recall anyone saying "Gee, I can't wait to get my new Gurista frigate!" or "Oh goody, I really want that one Angel Cartel ship!"

Does anyone here have a ship that isn't from one of the four races or ORE that they use primarily? Also, why are the others so unpopular?

Update: Never mind, I realized the reason I wasn't seeing any pirate ships was because I don't browse ISIS enough and mistook a lot of ships for the wrong faction. Lol Mods, feel free to kill this thread.

I only cheat on my Mega with other Mega-hulled ships (Kronos, Vindicator, Navy Mega), and Thoraxes (and thorax hulled ships)...and Nemesisisissis' (**** it. No one knows what the plural of Nemesis is, or how to say it.), and Catalysts...and Velators... and Zealots....and Armageddons....and Nagas...and Purifiers...and....

Wow. I just realized how much I cheat on my Mega. Its going to leave me for another *******...I just know it.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Uhhhh I used to use a Gila, until I was skilled up for an Ishtar. Gila is still almost as good as an Ishtar. I tend to switch back to the Gila when I go into lowsec because its a tad cheaper, and I have 50billion of them but only 1 Ishtar.

Occasionally I run into a Cynabal in exploration sites. Sometimes I still see a Gnosis. Occasionally I see an Astero or Stratios.

Then there are incursions. Nothing but pirate battleships there pretty much.

Angel ships have taken a bit of a hit in popularity because they were nerfed a little. They were also given god-awful camo paintjobs. They're still loved though. Even though they look like total ass compared to how they used to look. WTH CCP.

Afaik, the only race that isn't used to any extent is the Sansha ships, and even then it's only the sub-BS ones that see no use.
So I think I have to join in with the “where are you even looking?”-crowd on this one… Ugh
