hi,
im interested in seting up a channel for dueling other people.

i want to know what the communties thouhts are on a channel such as this.

i for one would like a channel where i can get a fight any time of the day.

does anybody else feel the same?

tried lowsec roaming for a few hours and came up with 0 fights?

null sec is not for you because u dont have the isk to replace clones lost in bubbles/gatecamps?

maybe a dueling channel should be made so that u can arrange duels with likeminded people!

pls let me know ur thoughts on this notion.

if u think its a terrible idea please give reason.

This is a very good idea. I suggest you start charging per duel or to be in the channel, or find another way to make an EVE business model around this. Over time, you could be a trusted third party and have each contestant pay like 50m and the winner gets 90m, or something like that. Of course, you'll want to base out of Jita.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

Im not sure, but if the name was suggested as the first reply and its in use in the game itself, I think there might already be a dueling channel and its called "fight club"

I recommend including a buy in insurance policy for the duels. Both players buy in at an agreed upon value based on their ship costs. (probably something like 5/10/30/60-100/200m for frig/dessie/cruiser/bc/bs) A ref hold that isk, and returns it at the end of the match if nothing goes wrong. If one player breaks the duel agreement, their buy in is forfeit and goes to the other player to replace losses. If they break the rule and still lose, everyone gets to laugh at them and the opposing player makes a little bit of money. The ref could work for tips to have some incentive to not walk off with money during a match.

The purpose of this is to reduce the amount of neutral logi alts brought in once the duel is active. Obviously there is a certain level of trust placed in the ref, so starting new refs with only frigate duels is probably for the best. The ref could be compensated 5-10% of the cost of the most valuable ship to a minimum of 1 mill.

It would be nice if CCP would take the 'duel' concept, combine it with the alliance tournament, pop up little 'fight clubs' all around new eden, put in a ranking system, plus some minor income for risking your ship, and great incentives for winning.... then delete all missions and all trace of missions from the game.... Instead of 'missioners' we'd have "Gladiators" or "Duelists" .... sponsored either by NPC or Player Corps, with performance and character skills dictating what kind of ship the NPC corp would sponsor you with.... Player corps could decide on their own.

Voila a true 'PVP' centric sandbox game.... where your 'mission' becomes to be the best duelist in New Eden.....


and we wouldn't have to worry about supposed combat ships not performing well in 'pvp' combat, because the fittings would become the same overnight

im glad to see that some people like the idea.

thank you for ur inputs so far.

im on holiday atm so im on a dodgy net connection and i keep getting kicked out of eve. but once im back im going to properly look into setting up this channel.

that gives me some time to come up with a good name at least!

also really like the idea about the insurance policy and ofc people should be in fleet to make sure there is no ogb going on.

if people are in fleet and warp to a safe spot designated by the ref then it would be difficult for neutral logi to provide support. am i wrong? (ie without being in fleet the logi dont have an easy warp in)

please keep the ideas coming guys and thanks again.

This is a great idea! now I wouldn't dual myself but I would be willing to be the first to say i would ref fights (only in Uedama). I wouldn't scam because of 2 reasons one is that I simply don't do that sort of thing and the second is because scamming on a marmite toon gets you kicked simple.

you could ask anyone in mym8 for a reference on me to see if I'm trust worthy.

lol this would actually be a pretty good idea, since capsuleers are sort of immortal and we would provide entertainment for concord and citizens hahaha, would be nice if it's player created though.

good idea op hoping this turns to something big.

one tip OP, don't include money for every fight, simply have people take bets, and make a spreadsheet to keep the ratios on each individual etc.
