So the game was working fine for me on friday afternoon (post-patch). I was playing on two accounts on the same computer (macbook pro, mid 2005 10.9.1).

One of hte clients was a little unstable and kept crashing - perhaps once every half hour or so,. on the fourth time, the game wouldn't load up correctly; launcher is fine, but the game window opens and then an exception popsup (before char selection or anything appears)



1) I restarted the launcher, no effect (even after it did its scan thing)
2) i restarted the computer no effect
3) I re downloaded the game client..
3a) I mounted the disk image (After it had verified the disk image etc)
3b) I dragged EVE from the img into my app folder - i didnt replace, its sitting as Eve Online 2 now.
3c) When i click on Eve Online 2, it will not run, a message appears: "Eve ONline 2 is damaged and cant be opened, you should move it to the trash."
4) I repeated steps 1 to 3c completly (including complete re- download of the game client, yea 13.6 gig etc.)

Throughout i googled for info, I also noted on the Rubicon .3 thread about using the mac repair tool from this page:

I downloaded and extracted it, but can't run it because its from an unidentified developer - the original thread is locked so i cant put an update there to say that.

Questions
1) Does the current downloadable client work?
2) should that repair tool work, or is there a different link (and if there is, perhaps a ccp / forum mod can mention it on that locked topic).
