Hello I'm a fairly new player to the game and would like some help on how to fit my Hyperion for Level 4 Missions. I have only purchsed the ship and have not fit it with anything yet. I don't have the ability to use T2 items in any slots unfurtunately but would like to be able to solo my missions without taking too much damage and have to warp out and come back a few times. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

i never used a hyperion so cant help u there i always preferred a megathron fitted like this:

[Megathron, mission]

7x Neutron Blaster Cannon II (Null L)

Experimental 100MN Afterburner I
Federation Navy Stasis Webifier
Phased Weapon Navigation Array Generation Extron
Heavy Capacitor Booster II

Large Armor Repairer II
2x Energized Thermic Membrane II
Energized Kinetic Membrane II
Tracking Enhancer II
3x Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

2x Large Hybrid Ambit Extension I
Large Auxiliary Nano Pump I

i used it alot but its pretty skill heavy, and has trouble with range even worse with t1 ammo.

as i started i used something like this

[Megathron, mission]

7x 425mm Prototype Gauss Gun (Antimatter Charge L)

Large Micro Jump Drive
Federation Navy Stasis Webifier
Phased Weapon Navigation Array Generation Extron
Heavy Capacitor Booster II (Cap Booster 800)

Large Armor Repairer II
2x Energized Thermic Membrane II
Energized Kinetic Membrane II
Tracking Enhancer II
3x Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

2x Large Hybrid Locus Coordinator I
Large Ancillary Current Router I

The poster above me has the basic fit. I would stick to fleet missions so when you get in a bad spot someone can bail you out.

You're pilot isn't even two months old so I'm sure core skills (Tanking, Capacitor, Navigation), are extremely low. This combined with low DPS from your gunnery skill isn't a good thing. If you have lots of ISK and don't mind losing it go ahead try solo but don't forget to insure it.

If you just want to play around with fits try the test server. I'm not sure when they last mirrored it so this may be an issue for you Sad

The big advantage of the Hyperion is it's drone bay. it's a great way to supplement your gun dps.

[Hyperion, lowsp]
Large 'Accommodation' Vestment Reconstructer I
Prototype Armor Kinetic Hardener I
Prototype Armor Kinetic Hardener I
Reactive Armor Hardener
Magnetic Vortex Stabilizer I
Magnetic Vortex Stabilizer I
Magnetic Vortex Stabilizer I

Optical Tracking Computer I, Optimal Range Script
Optical Tracking Computer I, Optimal Range Script
F-90 Positional Sensor Subroutines, Targeting Range Script
Experimental 100MN Afterburner I
Large Micro Jump Drive

425mm Prototype Gauss Gun, Antimatter Charge L
425mm Prototype Gauss Gun, Antimatter Charge L
425mm Prototype Gauss Gun, Antimatter Charge L
425mm Prototype Gauss Gun, Antimatter Charge L
425mm Prototype Gauss Gun, Antimatter Charge L
425mm Prototype Gauss Gun, Antimatter Charge L
Drone Link Augmentor I

Large Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Large Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Large Nanobot Accelerator I

Warden I x5
Hobgoblin I x10

This is all T1, but the cpu is tight (4 tf left) so upgrading to T2 may require some tweaking and maybe some implants (which are pretty cheap honestly). The purpose of this fit is to "snipe". Use the mjd to put you out of range of the rats, and start shooting small > big. You need the sensor booster for this since the hyperion is blind and has terrible targeting range. Iridium should give you enough range to snipe at max targeting range. Once only BS are left, you should be able to just switch ammo towards Antimatter and tank their damage and destroy them from "close range" (below drone optimal)

[Hyperion, lvl4]
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Large Armor Repairer II
Reactive Armor Hardener
Armor Thermic Hardener II
Armor Kinetic Hardener II

Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script
Sensor Booster II, Targeting Range Script
Heavy F-RX Prototype Capacitor Boost, Cap Booster 800

425mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L
Drone Link Augmentor I

Large Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Large Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Large Nanobot Accelerator I

Warden II x5

This is what I used for a long time. It requires genolution implants CA-1 and CA-2, as well as a Zainou 'Gypsy' Electronics EE-603. Swap out as TC or the Sensor Booster for an AB as needed.

after i have seen the hype recomandations which came up i got abit to eft warrioring. be warned i used an all l5 pilot for this and this is a dps tank (300dps tank when explo/kin membrane fit against angel).

[Hyperion, mission]

6x 425mm Prototype Gauss Gun (Antimatter Charge L) (36km optimal + 30km falloff range)

Large Micro Jump Drive
Heavy Capacitor Booster II (Cap Booster 800)
3x Omnidirectional Tracking Link II (Optimal Range Script)

2x Drone Damage Amplifier II
2x Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Imperial Navy Large Armor Repairer
Energized Thermic Membrane II
Energized Kinetic Membrane II

Large Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Large Drone Scope Chip I
Large Hybrid Collision Accelerator I

5x Garde II (48km optimal + 23km falloff = 71km fighting range)
5x Hobgoblin II

EDIT: U see i prefer to use cap injectors instead of a cap stable variant, that frees up space for more efficient slot use but is riskier because u could run out of cap if u dont manage your cap.

To run L4s comfortable, you've got to have your DPS and EHP/S rep amount add up to around 1000. To that end, Illiar D'Anaari's Hyperion fits are the most reasonable posted here.

A few additional things;

  • Getting the skills to be able to fit a T2 tank should be a priority. A Meta 4 tank isn't too bad, but generally not advisable unless you've got some experience in handling the sort of DPS L4s can throw at you.
  • Having witnessed new player corpmates rush into battleships and lose them to L4 (and sometimes L3) mission rats, I'd suggest tagging along with someone for a few missions first.
  • Get to know the behaviour of mission enemies. Use EVE Survival for intel on missions (some of which may be outdated, but the info on the site is by and large accurate).Learn to use EFT ]or Pyfa to simulate fits.

My preferred Hyperion fit would be something like this:

[Hyperion, L4 - Minimum]
Large Armor Repairer II
Armor Thermic Hardener II
Armor Kinetic Hardener II
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

Experimental 100MN Afterburner I
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script
Sensor Booster II, Targeting Range Script
Heavy Electrochemical Capacitor Boost, Cap Booster 800

425mm Prototype Gauss Gun, Federation Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Prototype Gauss Gun, Federation Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Prototype Gauss Gun, Federation Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Prototype Gauss Gun, Federation Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Prototype Gauss Gun, Federation Navy Antimatter Charge L
425mm Prototype Gauss Gun, Federation Navy Antimatter Charge L
Drone Link Augmentor I

Large Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Large Hybrid Burst Aerator I
Large Nanobot Accelerator I

Caldari Navy Warden x5
Hobgoblin II x5

To get the best out of this fit, you want your Gallente BS and Large Hybrid Turret skills, plus gunnery support skills at 4. That should give you about 600 DPS (just over 500 without the sentries) and a 500 DPS tank, so you'd be very comfortable in running missions. It is tight on the fitting, but I've built it assuming you've got at least 4 in your core skills, so you should be able to fit it fully (so getting 4 into your core skills is a must Smile)

This fit allows you to pound enemies from ranges of about 45-50km with maximum damage application. I'd advise against venturing too close to enemies, as smaller rats can get under your guns and make your life difficult. In missions, burn away to a reasonable distance (about 45km), primary webbing and scrambling frigates, then kill the DPS boats (Battleships and the odd battlecruisers), and then everything else.

As noted earlier, Meta 4 tank wouldn't be too bad; your resistance would still cross the 70 mark, and your rep amount will exceed 400. You can also replace the EANM with a Reactive Armor Hardener or a Damage Control II, if you're really nervous about handling the incoming DPS. Still, the rigs and the Hyperion's inherent repair bonus should keep you pretty comfortable.

Some people would suggesting making your boat cap stable, rather than relying on boosters, but I find boosters more useful. Plus the practice comes in handy later, when you want to get into PVP. They're not all that expensive to use, either, and give you a nice boost of capacitor to keep all your systems going, so they're really useful. With the sort of performance this fit gives, you'll only ever need to use cap boosters in the really heavy DPS missions, as your repper is unlikely to be constantly active during any other mission.

This fit will cost you about 75 mill (that's sans ship cost, seeing as you've already purchased one) at Jita prices, plus a little more based on how much ammo and cap booster charges you buy. You can use regular Wardens in place of the Caldari Navy ones (which are roughly 3 mill each) to save on the costs further. All in all, reasonably priced for the performance it gives.

just to put it up here the fit i made has 960 dps on paper + 300 dps tank against the worst type rat and thats what matters to me but u r right he is a new player so my fits would probably be to taxxing on him. And i never used a hyperion before i used ships with the same paper dps to tank so.

All of the above fits are suitable for what you need.

I've used a Hyperion to great effect in Lvl 4's, and the fit was:

7 x 425 Prototype Gauss Cannon, 1 x Drone Link Augmentor. (High slots)

100MN Afterburner, Micro Jump Drive, Sensor Booster, 2 x Cap Rechargers. (Mids)

Reactive Armour Hardener, Large Armour Repairer II, Mission Specific Armour Hardeners, and then fill up with Magnetic Stabilizers. (Lows)

Ammo: Antimatter (faction or higher), Iridium (For med range targets), Tungsten (To get their attention.)

Drones: Sentry Drones for the mission type, ie Serpentis = Wardens with Medium Attack drones ie Hornets, for frigs.

Either warp to the Encounter at range or once in the Encounter, MJD out in any Direction.

Fire off a couple of salvos of tungsten to get them to head to towards you with Zero Transversal, Switch to Iridium and then once the Rats get less than 60km, Switch to Anitmatter.

If you can use T2 Ammo, Start with Spike and switch to Javelin if they get too close.

*Kill the frigs first in case they warp scram you*

Hope this helps.

960 DPS + 300 DPS tank with all level 5 skills? If so you could probably cut those numbers in half for the OP. I'm on my phone so don't have EFT.

As it has been said over and over in the past. You really shouldn't be flying a battleship until you can fit it properly, meaning Tech 2 modules. Here's the fit I used back when I was grinding L4s. The only one time I ever lost it was when I fell asleep from being tired or drunk or bothBlink Otherwise, you'll be fine with any L4 out there.

tbh im not sure how much dps will be reduced the fit i linked has 442 drone dps and 519 gun dps (i use gardes for everything but angel or if need more range). But i have just seen a problem the hype is pretty short sighted means i have to switch one omni against sebo which means garde ranges would drop to 65km. Either way im doing a 2nd ship which would be overtanked but be probably better to get the feelers out for a newbie.
