Manipulation through in game activity is fine. I was trying to be subtle to the op as out of game manipulation through meta sources like forum posts are a bannable offence. he might be accused of stoking the market.

No cause for concern.

Probably due to speculative buying in anticipation of increased demand for PLEX for AUR conversion in the proposed (as of yet uncertain) paintjob introduction, and a secondary wave of people reacting to the short swing.

The price will stabilise as PLEXs flow from other markets to restock Jita after someone has apparentky bought up a large quantity.

PLEX is backed by the Gods, and CCP is likely only to intervene in the case of tue price collapsing, not in it rising, which is "good" for CCP, as it means players are more likely to purchase gametime AND purchase PLEX for a larger ISK return.

Fuhermore, only a fraction of all PLEX trades in Jita. Because the volume of trade in PLEX in Jita is higher than aby one given place elsewhere in the universee, it might look like manipulation, but its ultimately only Jita, and only a result of someone buying a large quantity there in a short duration. This is one of the downsides of Jita being so the center of everyones attention. Easy to lose perspective on the wider picture.

If CFC or anyone else with enough organisation and funds made a concerted effort to undermine the PLEX market, it would invariably have been leaked and ALL markets would have been bought out simultaneously. I dont doubt they could do it, but it would be crazy to do so, as CCP would certainly intervene.

Would be hilarious imo, and economic warfare on an unprecedented level that would make it difficult for opposition to keep all their accounts PLEXed while you dish out your PLEX stash to your own guys through incentive programs. But the investment and organisation required is huge, and CCPs reaction unpredictable and indefensible. PLEXs seized, accounts frozen, etc.

All that is needed for a small swing like this, is someone buying say a few hundred PLEX at a peak Maeket time when many others are watchijg the price, and removing them from the market. The effect may snowball a bit as others react to capitalise on it, and the price will remain high for abit, but that is normal and fine.

Be worried if PLEX rises 100-200mil in a week.

You're disclosing this because you want to enhance the wave and increase the profit levels because no one in EVE has the capital funds required to manipulate the PLEX market alone.
