I am told by a hebrew scholar friend the correct translation of that should read "there will be peace on earth when men are of goodwill" :D

Not sure about Spock but accoding to Wikipedia, the actor Leonard Nimroy was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Yiddish-speaking Orthodox Jewish immigrants from Iziaslav, Soviet Union (now Ukraine). :D
