EVE Online has a beautifull universe, but...

...the game is boring.

1* Ship movement is hollywood physics.

2* Stations do have only hangar and one room. Where are others? Why I can't interact with others in stations?

3* PVE is really, really, really, really, really boring. Level two and I am done with it. Exploration is the same, but with RNG deciding if you get fancy loot after gazillion clicks.

4* Weapons and combat is boring. Press F1 and that's it. Maybe orbit, maybe little bit of distance control, but that's it.

5* Industrial and market are okay, but trading game...not fun. It's boring.

6* Training skills takes forever. Your personal skills do not matter. Skills are just timers that tell you to come back six months later.

7* Game feels like second job. That's not fun.

Ugh!

This is a game for adults. We adults aren't really impressed by eye candy. In fact. We play this 'cause we don't have to spend a lot of time looking at eye candy. True EVE players are more concerned with numbers. As a result we'd rather register the values of the numbers quickly. I'm sure, if they started using a decorative font for the numbers we'd mob rush Iceland carrying torches and various farming implements.

If you're into eye candy, there's plenty of neat spaceship games out there with "really cool" graphics. You can have all your friends gather around your monitor and oooh and aaaaah at your really cool game you'd have to be really cool to have downloaded.

This game also isn't the kind of game where a God of Internet Gaming (in WoW for instance), can come here, grind for the quick highend gear, then go around ganking other lowly players who just aren't as "good at gaming" as Mr. Epeen. (Sorry for borrowing your name there Mr. Epeen.)

We like the "training" thing because it's an adult way to handle what in MMOs is called "experience points."
You can't power level here. Oh my goodness! Ain't that a shame? AND....

I thought everybody knew EVE is a job.

I hope this response clarifies things a bit for you.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

OP self identifies as not Eve's target customer. Congratulations, you just won Eve.

Well, it looks like you have the entire game figured out. You should probably move on from chess to checkers.

I do not like the men on this spaceship. They are uncouth and fail to appreciate my better qualities. I have something of value to contribute to this mission if only they would realize it. - Bill Frug

1. someone stated that the game use fluidic physic, in other term ocean based physics in space. Yeah it's nothing to do with newtonian physics.

2. for what I know it has never been implemented

3. yes PVE is predictible, I also found it pretty uninteresting, even if during the incursion the AI seem to act more like PVP ships than some scripted and predictible bots. You can always try Faction Warfare. For my part I grind the pve until I have some fits in advance to push into low sec. In high the possible actions are also limited by the Concord presence, it isn't Elite in this matter.

4. I don't have much experience in it, but in PVP combat seems to be less boring and require even some "manual piloting" (aka double click in space). But in PVE yes, once you know how act the AI...

5. I do enough trading myself in RL to not be bothered by it. On the other side, manufacturing and selling your own stuff is pretty fun.

6. It can be, but you don't have to wait for it and you can begin to play the game. Skills even progress when you are offline. I know your pain, I patiently waiting for this pesky Level V Gunnery to be done...

7. you don't have to use it like that. Some play it effectively as a second job, but there are ways to not be sucked in it. I also prefer to do things that I find fun in game than to apply for a virtual job into a fantasy universe.

all in all you can take a look here: http://swiftandbitter.com/eve/wtd/ (boxes are clickable)

there are many things to do.

Point 1,

warp engines, read the lore.

Warp engines are always online even at sublight speeds, and create a drag on space which inhibits movement, slowing ships down to zero.

Points 2 and above.

Eve ships are ******* huge and behave like submarines not fighter planes.

If eve is not the game for you, then please play something else.

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...

EvE is a game in which you make your own content.

If you are finding it boring it's most likely because you are waiting for the game to guide you. You'll find it much more interesting if you take more control of what you want to do and then just go do it.

On point 4, if all you are doing is F1 and keep at range or orbit, then you're a bad pilot. Try switching from PvE to PvP and finding some opponents who know how to fight. You'll quickly learn there is more depth to combat than F1 and orbit.

PS. Can I have your stuff

EVE is long term strategy. It's not instant gratification.

It's for the planner, the schemer. People who look at the whole picture instead of the individual elements making it up.

I can play elements of EVE while relaxing, listening to music, watching TV.

Other elements of EVE require my constant attention (low-sec and below).

I dont have to nurse a joystick 24/7.

If the game seems like a 2nd job then you're playing it wrong. Try something other than mining and missions. And for the love of god don't try to spend all your time playing Eve just to make enough isk to get a PLEX to pay for your subscription.

Hmm... not even 2 weeks old and you can already determine the game is boring? Golly gee Mr... thanks for telling me!
/sarcasm

*sigh* Seriously... nobody is going to make you stay. So bye bye and have fun with whatever lame game you end up playing that you think is so "superior" to Eve. New Eden survived for 10 years without you... I am sure it will survive the next 10 as well.

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

And read this while your at it to get a more accurate portrayal of the facts.

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/games/eve-online/ccp-financial-trouble-ccp-financial-report-released/

It's not all roses, but some decent explanations/ educated opinions about what's behind the numbers. Isn't rosey... a bit risky.. but certainly doesn't look like the roof is about to cave in as the poster above would like you to think.

Have you ever stood and stared at it? Marveled at its beauty, its genius? Thousands of people just living out their lives... oblivious.

Who put the goat in there?
