Giving skill points back

Hello everybody,

My suggestion is simple :
Many of us have trained for skills that we will never use or we thought they were something different.Especially when people are new to this game they lose a lot of months with wasted skill points.

So my suggestion is here:
Once per year/or per six months by paying one or two plexes we could delete some skill points and take them back so we can train something we really needed. To make it more balanced you could pay 2 skill points and get back 1 skill point.

Found some but no one suggests 2 points for 1 so it would be balanced.

There is no such thing as wasted skill points.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

You learn the skills...you use the skills, you move on. When you want new skills take the time to learn them in my opinion...

'ive decided to unlearn math...its a usless skill... i wanna put that knowledge towards RACE CAR DRIVING!!'

do what every one else does learn to play, then make a new char that is focused. took me a mounth to get everything down and find a path i wanted to train for.

u can come back to the skills uve trained at any time, they are still able to be useful.

no

This.

The skillpoints you aren't using (for the moment)... they aren't a hindrance to you. They can never stop you from achieving anything else in the game.

No to this idea. As always.

Back in my first year I trained every research skill including ones for reverse engineering. I thought back then I would have a character that would do everything. Later on I realized it's just easier to have alts do it separately and ironically, I never even trained the same skills on them. Kinda sucks mostly because I spent 100+ mil on the books but such is life.

There are no return policies in Eve. No refunds, no take backs, no mercy.

The only refunds you'll ever get is when CCP kills a skill and that's justified. There is no possibility of using it again or coming back to it. Unlike current skills where you can come back and they are still there for you, should you change your mind.

no. You should never be allow to reclaim points trained unless CCP remove something from the game.

I never understood this moronic need of people to have "perfect skills" with not even 1sp out of place. its not like there is some arbitrary skillpoint cap, and specializing in one thing doesnt mean you can never do just as well in another if you devote the time to train it as well. which gives you the added benefit of FOTM/nerf immunity.

no - but I see no issue with catering to people's OCD and allowing them to remove skillpoints from their char by paying plex.....
REMOVE, NOT REDISTRIBUTE

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.

How so....dead paths in eve show up faster than a few months. Mining career comes to mind real quick. I am an ex miner on one char. Mining sucked in intro ships, mining sucked when in intermediate ships on the way to exhumer, and mining sucked even in exhumers.

I have the ballz to cowboy up and say I messed up not stopping at stage 1 and 2 before I had exhumer then came to realize alt was better off running missions. I will also admit that sometimes I can wake up mining aspects to benefit me. Skills even unloved can be used in a pinch.

Or you have the case of ccp nerfing something. I usually have no sympathy here. You went FOTM, hope you enjoyed your OP funtimes. Not even a **** here as I have done FOTM trains as well and will admit that openly. I took my nerf lumps justt like you may have. I know I trained for dual neut o cane in its prime. I had my fun in it. Was not shocked to to see it nerfed. I moved on to other FOTM after. Who knows...one day ccp may make canes I win buttons again. At least I am set already if so.

maybe a re-design of the clone system, where if you have a clone too lowgrade for your SP, you can flag top-level (skills of the highest level you have trained, in other words, cant unflag skills required for skills you already have trained), that way you can guarantee which skills you will lose when podded, instead of it being random (or at the very elast, anrrow down which ones you can lose if your clone is REALLY low)

The only wasted skill points are those which you chose not to use.

With debatable exceptions in Electronics Upgrades and Tactical Shield Manipulation.

EDIT: I am in favor of letting people spend unwanted skillpoints on vanity items, as long as there is a defense against destruction of hacked accounts, perhaps a skillpoint payment has to be queued similar to the biomass queue and you can't complete the payment until the time is up.

FT Diomedes: "Reaver, sometimes I wonder what you are thinking when you sit down to post."

Frostys Virpio: "We have to give it to him that he does put more effort than the vast majority in his idea but damn does it sometime come out of nowhere."

Not supported.

You chose those skills live with that choice.

I say this as a man with 24mil in industrial and mining skills that I will probably never use again.

Edit: Learn how to use the search facility it saves you and us time.

the key thing there is that you *could* go back to indy work should you feel the need (circumstance change limiting your Eve time for instance)

No skill is wasted in my opinion, it just has greater or lesser use depending on your current activities.
