Probing appears broken - but can be fixed by changing your filtered view in the UI.

Apparently you need to change the filters (news to me and quite a few others it seems).

If (like me) you were using a filter that had just Anomalies and Signatures, you now need to change the filter and select each of the different types of signatures. The result if you don't is that your result disappears as soon as it's id'd.

Be nice if folks just said "try this" instead of the BS that goes on in here. Says more about them I suppose.

the only thing that is broken , is that people do not read other forum threads or at least read the patch threads.

Haven't been out of the WH today (for obvious reasons).

Didn't see any other obvious posts either and haven't trolled through the boards and the endless whines about PI to pull this snippet of detail out. Guess some people have more time on their hands than me *L*

... you really are dense, aren't you. Its a patch, they break things occasionally. This time, it isn't exploration though - its the filters. Check your filters, and select radar, ladar, mag, grav, and unknown. Voila, now it works again, perfectly fine. Next time look around, just a little bit, and all your problems go away...

Filters? Why not just say so without the insults FFS?

Exactly right.

OP needs to read the patch notes. Simple. Easy. Problem solved.

Because it was in patch notes? And because it takes all of 30 seconds to figure it out if you ever do probing even semi-regularly even if you didn't read the patch notes? Seriously... I was probing, foudn the same issue, hadn't bothered reading patch notes and still figured it out...

The good thing about the internet is that it isn't hard to find a braying jackass. They are easy to spot since they always start off a paragraph with an insult.

Its not hard to find the white knighting butt hurt brigade either.

They're usually off white knighting someone while sounding rather butt hurt.

It's both funny and sad, but this is getting asked about every 10-15 min or so in the Exploration channel. I've even gotten around to copy-pasting a response to it, lol.

What a fuckin worthless change this is.

You have to scan down to 25% to see what it is, but then the filter kicks in, so it's gone from the sig list, you can't r/click to ignore it.

Raise your scan distance, oh and there it is again, so you go from 4au to 2au scanning the same fuckin site over and over.

What's the point?

Not to mention that all my SIG ID are ABC-447, XYZ-447 etc

So they unintentionally broke your filter. Get over it, spend the 2 seconds necessary fixing it. Tada, issue solved, stop moaning. All things concerned, I would much rather CCP messed up our filters then some of the other things that they usually do around patch time... like how they had to take the server down earlier because people were crashing jita by causing endless loops somehow. So stop whining or stop exploring - your choice.

It's not even a filter.

You get to 25% and it dissappears, ok thats great.

Lose that 25% scan strength (by moving on to the next sig) and the old sig comes back....

Again..what's the point?

It would be a filter if you could maintain 25%+ scan strength on all sigs. Good luck with that.

As soon as you drop under 25% the sig turns back into 'cosmic sig' thereby passing the filter.

I don't get you folks.. nothing broke. They just added the ability to filter based on type. I guess maybe this has an effect when you use the deep space scanner probes? Can't tell though, because I can't use those.

The change to the Sig ID's is most likely just temporary.. I mean, sigs only exist untill DT, and then you get new randomized numbers. The 447 is current in every hole I enter.. And in most only the first letter has a difference. This should really be solved after DT since thats when the randomizer kicks in.
