Regardless of whether the Nexus chips ever actually drop in significant numbers ... or at all ... the threat of them being out there has forced Astero prices down by 20-30% :D

So the tactic did work.

And Nestor prices went up… Roll

Buffing the cap and doubling the RR range bonus may have contributed to that :D

The drop change of the bpc's are based on the tier of the sentient / commander npc. Your experiment has limited to hierachy's, radiances and independances. Please note that the base sig's of them are rly big and fall in the range of easy npc complexes like "bases" and such and most sentient drones in them are lower tiers with a low drop chance. Therefor you are drawing the wrong conclusions.

youre sure about the tier theory?

drones dont have regular ded sites like 10/10s and they are all pretty easy

Seems like the Astero version of the chips are starting to drop ...

Rampant market speculation, I'm sure...

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

busy doing other things... was running one hierarchy which escalated to the last stage.. hierarchy mother dropped 278m worth of t2 salvage. got 2 full escalated hierarchys so far, the last stage dont have 'sentient' spawns and takes forever because you have to kill almost every ship

Yeah we did all the escalations for it all 5 or so and nothing just 300mil in loot at the end. Worst drone land update! Still worst region to make good stuff sept bounties

Well, at least some people are running high sec drone anomalies now.

There a high-sec "island" in Devoid — the Enka constillation — that before Rubicon 1.3 hit would have (literally) hundreds of drone anomalies piled up in it. The scanner would look something like this.

But yesterday I went there to do some testing for myself, but found only one or two anomalies. So either there's other people out there just testing the high sec drone anomalies, or just maybe people are actually finding the BPCs there.

did a drone patrol today which is the equivalent to havens, no sentient spawned....

then i did a Hierarchy again and got it full escalated 4 sentients spawned.... no NEXUS chip... Roll

my conclusion:

Anomalies dont have guaranteed sentient spawns, Cosmic Signatures like Hierarchy have guaranteed sentient spawns, but so far they dont drop the NEXUS chip, the payout for Hierachy isnt bad fully escalated.
Ill extend the HUNT and keep reporting...

Cool. Flying around fighting an NPC hoping for a specific piece of loot to drop.

It's nice to see CCP is incorporating some aspects of World of Warcraft into EVE.

They're for faction ship BPC's - they're supposed to be rare. Stop whining and do missions for them if you can't cope with the drop rate.

So the drop rate is few a day? From 10/10? Shocked

Why did I even bother...

CCP be kind, buff the drop rate by 100, then if still to low again
Repeat until it becomes too common then take a step back.

You know just like you do with the system load
This way we can see if the issue is that people arent doing enough kills for the statistics to kick in, or if there is some hilarious overlooked piece that meant the loot drops didnt get connected properly.

The number of times that has happened to me in programming...

You dont know pain until you have to find the proper baud rate for an unlisted serial communications port after cobbling a port into existence in the first place.

After all these years of watching CCP screw up patch after patch, I have to wonder if any of them could ever earn a living coding out in the real world.
My admiration, sir. Good eye. Good memory.
