Long ago, when CCP first introduced its "new" borked launcher, there were threadnaughts raging at CCP for ignoring customer feedback and releasing a bugged launcher. Nobody could figure out why CCP would introduce a known buggy launcher, until users hit on the idea that CCP would be selling ad space on the launcher to spam its users with non-CCP items. Here is my post on that thread:
Launcher is Adware
Today I see an ad for some drive through company I've never heard of before trying to sell me Eve themed playing cards.
I went on record back in May of 2013 saying that I have no tolerance for a gaming company spamming me with ads when I pay for their products, because CCP should be developing Eve not selling ad space to any company that's willing to pay in hopes of getting my credit card number.
So, I sent an email to this company telling them what I thought of their unwanted spam, and what I thought of their company for forcing it upon me, and my intent to never purchase anything from them.
I humbly request that anyone else that believes that a game launcher should launch a game not spam ads at users do the same. Just click on their link in the launcher and go to the contact us page on their website. If, as in some marketing arrangements, they have to pay CCP for every user that gates to their site through the launcher then it will even cost them money to find out that we don't want ads, we want Eve.

Is the ad covering up the play button? Forcing you to view it before logging in?

No? Then that's keeping you unable to ignore it so that people who ARE interested in such deals can see it?

Every program you use that utilizes an internet connection, free or paid, is collecting every bit of information from your computer and relaying it to agencies which classify and organize it into profiles about you.

All of them. Every game, every program.

Welcome to the world we live in.

How dare they put EVE related items in the EVE launcher!

It's... it's.... inconceivable.

I'm amused by the fact that you've probably just attracted far more attention to the advert by posting this than it would have gotten anyway!

Also, chill out man it's a small box that no-one forces you to look at.

Funny how you didn't object to the third party selling the collectors edition. (Musterbrand sell licensed merchandise. These cards are licensed merchandise)

Now, if they were selling something that wasn't eve related, your complaint would have some legitimacy. But this? Nope.

Woo! CSM XI!

Dearest CCP,

I would be interested in sponsoring a video linked in the launcher of the OP getting ganked repeatedly.
