Sleeper Aggression altered in 1.3..

At the very bottom of the patch notes (as usual) comes the W-space tweak:

"The aggression range of Sleeper NPC's has been adjusted in all wormhole sites"

I've not been posting/browsing the forums for a while so excuse me if I sound ignorant but can anyone lay some useful facts on this little gem, or link me to a thread?

Doubt it, they already nerfed the sites so that its harder to run them solo but you can still do it.

Seems like they want to rid that possibility all together.

Thing is it is extremely risky to do in the first place.

I dont get CCP - they stifle innovation completely.

running a site solo isn't innovation. If you wanna play EVE solo go join an npc corp. You can still mostly run them solo in marauders. Of course when a fleet enters your system and hard tackles you while soloing a site...fun things happen. We had one guy say, "My Paladin is pimp fit now...there is no way I can die!" He died 5 minutes later to players who ganked him in a site. Oh EVE how I love you.

Innovation would involve something *new* and well there is nothing new about trying to solo sites unless you do it in a way no one else thought of. Like...using bombers to bomb spawns out of existence. That would be hilarious and fun!

Well I read up a bit and apparently there *was* a high-end gas site that could be solo mined (if you positioned your Venture 'just so') outside the sensor range of Sleeper spawns. So I'm assuming this tweak was to stop that happening.

Bane was running relic sites without killing the sleepers. CCP punished us all for Banes evil ways.

I just got back into doing escallations. They do spawn a bit more spread out. Not much, but it isn't possible to pop them all without webs anymore. I mean, yeah you could, but it would take a while - over half get to orbit range before you can kill them. 3 dreads you can almost do it and I would say 4 you could totally do it. I wouldn't call it a nerf to small operations, but if you typically drop 8 dreads on a site and pankoon it - then you won't even notice the change.

There is one. I know that you can mine the entire C32 cloud in a Vast Frontier without killing or getting aggro from the Sleepers. I read this change to not allow this anymore.

Start the day off slow and taper off from there.
