Incidentally, it would seem that all lights are off on the ships, including blinking lights, running lights and drone forcefields. The engine trails work, however.

Day two.

3rd time running Eve repair (second today)

3rd time being told In the launcher that I have to download the 1g+ patch.

I hope you guys fix this. But I just want the money I spent on plexing 2 days ago back.

Yup I agree that the patch need to have a better system where if you fail at 80%, you dont have to start from the beginning again.

After failing 2-3 times on my sad 90 kbps home internet, I used my relative's internet (1.8mbps) and it still is failing. The only difference is that with a faster internet, I can try more often - haha.

well looks like they have serious problems. maybe they should rollback this update and fix it before releasing to tranquility? i have no more idea what to do i wanted train amarr destroyer to lvl5 but even cannot update eve. entire updating service is not working properly

flushing dns didnt help
reinstalling windows ( including full hard disk format) didnt help
manual downloading failed at 2/3 of patch file
eve launcher and repair tools cant manage to complete patch download too
does not matter if im using windows vista or old windows xp

well connection cant help if is very fast you can just try more times thats right but what about people who pay bills for their internet? if they keep trying they might raise their bills too

and yes eve should have backup patching service to download it in one file or splitted into few files.
i just gave up because i dont want spending another 2gb of data transfer on failing to download patch

This distribution server... I cant connect to it, so I tried a ping just because, 0% of them went through. My connection to EVERYTHING else is fine.

SERIOUSLY?????

The numerous frame rate complaints are not a "known issue"? I would be fascinated to learn what qualifies as "known" in your definition.

Just in case you have somehow missed those previous complaints let me add mine for the record:

Fps now markedly lower than before and wildly erratic. Horrendously low when doing anything close to a station or gate - even if it's only moving the camera - and noticeably lower when anything other than your own ship is in view.

Single digit fps when docking/undocking/jumping - lowest noted so far 1.20fps. These actions are now usually just a series of freeze-frames each lasting anything between 3 and 7 seconds.

Docking/undocking now takes between 10 and 20 seconds.

Overview preselection of next gate/station in AP-generated route is broken again (works only intermittently).

Turrets are no longer colour-coded with the hull they are mounted on.

All engine sounds, which vanished after CCP's panic reaction to a load of unnecessary complaints about the mwd noise, are still missing.

Hangar background noises are present at login but after first undock they are absent for the rest of the session.

When opening Standings from Character Sheet the game locks up; everything is frozen for approximately 15-20 seconds while it loads. If you left the selection on Standings in the Character Sheet, every time you click on the avatar icon you get the delay - so the only workaround is to exit it while on something else (like Bio).

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Deinstall EvE and using offline installing datas brought me back to EvE. that was the only way for me to get the patch without any issues

well downloading patch via browser it take forever and will soon or sooner end in crash.
splitting patch into several packages and uploading to download site can help as maybe update server is taking heavy load when many people try download same file at one time

my friend has 20mb /s connection and he encountered same problem and all he can do is just try to download patch all day with no success

offline installer does not help either update still is stuck.

When i start my game it doesn't say Rubicon, it comes up with Tranquility, is this normal? It's the same for both lappy and comp. Everything was fine untill the patch on the 13.03.14

Looks like every one of you with a problem are running in DX11 mode. Many people have had on-going issues with CCP's support of DX11, including myself. Set the game to run on DX9. (On the launcher, click the cog icon at the top right corner.) Since I've done that I've had no issues with anything.

GJ CCP. Update went flawlessly for me.

Now if you could just get DX11 to work right...

Login, got into character selection, no problem.

Issue right now : You get the typical character stuck symptoms. Character refuses to load. Black screen and then socket closed disconnect.
This applied to all characters on the same account.

- Simple troubleshooting by renaming the entire CCP folder (in the Local settings). No go. So, it's highly unlikely a settings issue.
- Repair has no errors.
- Rebuilding checksums has no effect, neither do firing up the client directly. Therefore unlikely it's associated with the launcher.

Quick check @ Ctrl+Shift+Alt+m gives these clues (which is mostly meaningless except to the coders) :

Hello CCP, remember the above? Wtf did you do to your infra routing (and client code)?
I was figuring out certain possibilities and lo and behold, coming thru a VPN tunnel (via Japan) completely ELIMINATED the above problem.

Seriously, DO NOT initiate infrastructure changes concurrently with a massive patch. Wtf.
This doesn't resolve it fully either, it's only a temporary work around. Fix your infra + client code, good grief.


P.S. For those people having socket issues, a temp workaround is to come through a VPN tunnel. Goto http://www.vpngate.net/en/
It's fairly self explanatory. Best of all, it's open sourced. Make sure you order the computer's connection priority and put the VPN adapter on top of the list.

Edit: Path ping (of the original connection) is showing a telia.net routing. Telia is basically infamous if you mention it to WoT NA players. Well known for dropping/delaying packets.

I think there is something wrong with the Oracle model. Looks like a internal part of the model is showing through it, around the mid section where the windows are located. Four horizontal stripes connected by a almost vertical one appearing on the sides towards the front, I don't remember them being there yesterday so I think you guys should know.
