So far so good, i like the new graphics though perhaps the colour of the amarr ships is a little browner than i would usually go for. 100% like the price of the new skins, i think they are more than fair!

They do look more brown and less of the Amarr brass/bronze/gold as they did before.
Maybe this could be altered a little for a future patch?

Update: After 4+ hours of downloading and applying I was able to log in.

And everything looks like toys. Seriously, my ships look like die-cast models of the ships I used to fly. My Loki looks like a Matchbox ship, half of my Talos looks like polished pot-metal, and my Nemesis looks like a charm that should be hanging from a rearview mirror. The entire sense of scale of giant ships diffusing and reflecting massive amounts (thanks Shadoo) of light is gone. I'm afraid to get in my Rifter because somebody might try to plug a USB cable into my backside Shocked

Gallente ships examined closely looked good: the surface appeared to be more complex than before but colors (gray and green) seem to blend with each other too much. As for the rest I agree. All amarr ships look like made od plastic. The color sections (gold on normal, green on vizam , red on carthum) somehow lost their coplexity and look dull and flat. Paladin looks great with the coplexity of surface but it's new color is making me puke...

Wow, what did you guys do? My Pilgrim suddenly looks beautiful! Who would have known a little bit of lighting change would do so much?

Now that it has stopped looking so scruffy, maybe I go back to fly it again.

I like CCP as come out with the ship paint job, and everything but wouldn't it be easier and give more options if the different paint jobs were a new slot in the fitting window. This way you could which out paint jobs from ship to ship, have a lot of options. Maybe even have one where it's your corp and/or alliance on your ship. I just think this makes more sense in the long run and be a lot more interesting and open a lot more doors. Just an idea.

Hello,

Why this new just ugly glossy texture on all the vessels, they are warships not shoppingship. Have you change the skin of the slicer, can recover the skin former of the slicer, please, it's already average, the new is useless and ugly also. You would do better of work again the shape of certain vessels as the nestor, the slicer, the caracal, the apocalypse or the armagedon (and the dominix, no comment).

Pay to win and now pay to skin, bravo ccp (new cosmetic variants of existing ships have been made available in the NEX store, of course you can buy them in game with isk but ...). And can you change the Amar navy Armageddon model's by the Abaddon, i prefer this one, just my opinion (I find him average also but better than the Armageddon).

Sorry for these criticisms (and my english) but I find useless your last update (as the directional scan).

Eve is a good game but it changes. Good bye.

Dear CCP,

The entities should not be multiplied needlessly.

Please, make one more slot for all the ships used for paints like the slots used for rigs
This would preserve ship ID. Customization may be reflected in the ship's name like:
- Rifter (Krusual Edition)
- Catalyst (Aliastra Edition)
- Heron (Sukuuvestaa Edition)
etc
In fact painted ship has the stats of non-painted one, why to create another ship if not necessary?
It is reasonable to force destruction of old paint scheme while replaced with the new one (exactly like rigs of implants). This would simplify the process and probably allow to fit universal paints (like green-purple not binded to certain ship) to any ship after.. well.. soon (tm)

Thanks

The new lighting makes me sad. Sure it brings more contrast to Gallente ships and makes them "pop" a little bit more, it makes the Minmatar ships look more dark and rusty. It makes Caldari look more "gunmetal-y" which I do like. But above all the improvements to the other races, Amarr got hit hard and set back. The ships went from golden, brilliant, and beautiful to petinaed and neglected. The Legion looks dull and a bit like cloudy bronze, rather than shiny gold (and the turrets were magnificent before, and now are horrible). The Oracle was shining and gorgeous, and now looks like it's been starting to rust in a hangar. I would pay top isk to keep these magnificent ships in top shining condition.

TL:DR:

Please bring back the shining brilliance that the amarr models have been so keenly admired for, not this worn and slightly rusted look.

Did a key word search in the Rubicon patch notes for Character selection. I noticed that now it shows the ship you are in by type instead of the icon.

-edit- never mind. Upon closing the advertisement at the bottom of the character selection screen I see nothing has changed.

The new Tristan looks less like a toy soldier, and more like a sleek gun!

For the graphics: The lights look a little 'wet', and the metal shines too much for realism; however, I can see the potential in them, and I think this is a solid direction to move in! The ships might be a tad too bright compared to what they were, but maybe that is the intention.

Didn't notice the new lighting and color changes until just a few minutes ago, because I was flying an SOE ship on which these changes have absolutely no effect, and immediately flew back to one of my main hangars to see what everyone was talking about.

Spun my ships in the station and was aghast. Rolled around on the floor and vomited, but just for a moment.

Decided to undock them and take a look and had to change my opinion. In a solar system with a bright orange star the Amarr ships look great, even the Sarum Magnate and the Tash Murkon Magnate which people have been really upset about. The Previous Tash had a very nice color scheme which I really liked, and I would like to see that remain in the game in some other fashion, but the new one has it's own appeal and shouldn't be dismissed out of hand. The Sarum looks good, and I noticed some details I didn't before because of the changes.

The Suukuuvestaa Heron?.... I almost self destructed it out of compassion. The previous aesthetic it had was amazing, it looks forgettable now.

Everybody keeps whining about the ships being too shiny. I don't see this as a problem. There seems to be a common misunderstanding that the "shiny" parts of the ship are "painted" and couldn't possibly be, for instance, raw unadorned metal. There is no need to protect alloys from corrosion and weather in space.

Overall I am happy with the changes, but I will certainly admit that my fleet benefited more than others, since I own mostly Amarr ships.

Oh, and I'm very fickle about my monitor settings. My contrast and gamma are spot on and my color and temperature are as true to life as I can recreate.

Wait, CCP kills kittens now too?!  - Freyya

When are the stars going to be fixed? They have been a problem for YEARS. They looked great once upon a time. To see the problem, look at the following video, that was posted some time ago; the star problem is covered along with other issues already resolved.

Skins.

What can I say? A stripe? Really? That's what I am supposed to spend AUR on? I wouldn't spend ISK on a stripe that can hardly be seen, and I definately won't spend AUR on it.

It's the same mistake made with the clothes. They are all alike, the exact same shirt, just different colors. No thanks.

Not noticing any issues as of yet but I do have a somewhat serious problem that I knew was going to be a problem before the patch even hit.

I made my Abaddon blue just to see how it works and I had some spare AUR for some reason. But I am getting a little more ticked off every time you guys try to add things into the game that cost AUR. If you want something shiny and stupid in a subscription based game, then it should be acquirable without having to spend real world money.

This is still micro-transactions if you admit it or not. The fact that CCP has not gotton rid of AUR, but instead keeps trying to find new ways to use it, even after MASSIVE outcry against it, well that is just BS plain and simple.

If this milking the subscribed player base for extra money gets bad enough I might just cancel my 3 accounts. CCP needs to listen to its players and stop doing this crap.

I take it "successfully deployed" means a patch a day for the next two weeks as usual? And whats with all the sub expansions CCP? I used to generally only have to worry about nerfs and crap content change twice a year with the so called "expansions", are we doing it six times a year now and just not changing the name?
