Is there any mod for phpBB out there that allows you to post a ship fitting, and have it show up in a fitting window with the items linked for in-game viewing? I feel like I've scoured the web for one to no avail.

If not, it would be tons of awesome to have that mod available. Somebody should create one. I would if I didn't suck at coding.

Work is underway, and it's nearly finished.

Here's a preview of what you'll get once installed :

Main fitting screen

System will, on mouse over, show the name of :

  • ship
  • modules
  • charges
  • drones
  • faction
  • free slots


You will also see the number of non used slots

The "Export Tab" will allow your corp mates to copy and paste you fitting.

Comptible with EFT and Battleclinic. Working on Pyfa now. Tested successfully with phpbb 3.08 and 3.09
I'll provide different background images for the fitting panel and, later on, a guide for customization.

It will be made possible via special BBCodes in your post. I'll have to look into that "In Game feature" you mentioned, because at first, I did not even thought about it. Good idea.

Sounds good! I think the in-game linking could be done fairly easily with an SQL database linking the item ID's with the item names, but I don't know enough about SQL and PHP (how they work together) to do that myself.

The loadout posting is the main thing I'm looking for though. Anything else is just icing on the cake. I really appreciate what you do. Keep up the good work!

I did find this EFT mod for phpBB3 a while back
I dont have an example online atm but uploaded it here:

Hello Skygod,

I think that this package you have is the original one.

I mean that this MOD was developed a while back and "abandoned".

After a contact with the initiator of the project, he gave me his permission to pick up development (full credit is given to him in the install procedure). I introduced new features and enhancements in it, and added all ships and modules that did not exist at the time it was released.

I'm preparing a 'stand alone" package for this MOD, and it will also be included in Cyerus MOD, the API registration MOD for phpBB.

This one you have works fine (exception made of the missing ships and modules), but I prefer "my version" Blink

SMF with the API mod works very well ... if it would have this module too it'll be great!

hopefully we can get a reply to this soon, i have taken the old mod and done some work to it but its rather broken.

it did not install properly (so that needs fixing to start) , mods are not placed in the correct spots, as well as the missing ships and mods.

I'm going to try and fix it, however its going to be a lot of work from this stage so hopefully I get to see the other persons work and we can get this done faster. ill keep you posted.

Hello there,

Well, this thread kind of died yes, because at some point, my phpbb integration knowledge was insufficient. My mod worked, but was not optimized at all.

But...

The project has been picked up twice :

By Cyerus, packaged with his phpbb registration mod here
Wait for version 5.2 to be release though, it's not in the previous version.


And by Philderbeast as a standalone MOD for phpbb here
He seems to encounter some minor issues though, and regarding the depth his post sunk in the forum, I don't know if he is still working on it.

I've released v5.2 of my phpBB mod, which includes the Ship Fitting mod with Crucible 1.1 data.

If Nathan, Philderbeast or anybody else has ideas and suggestions about it, be sure to let me know.
