null expo ishtar/stratios/other combat relic data

I realize there are various threads on this issue.

I have been running roo in null all week in an astero made quite a big chunk of oak and got a few kills as well.
I mainly do relic as it's better isk/hr. I only do data when I scan a shiny object such as serpentis control tower bpc :)
However I skip over hundreds of combat sites. I would like to run the occasional one but I'm at a loss how to go about doing this.

Which ship would be the best and fastest and safest being in null doing combat sites but still have the capability to to the relic sites I do so enjoy.

Everything says ishtar but at the same time I lose on a very much needed bonus to analyzer modules for hacking.
Stratios would solve the bonus issue but at 200 mil more then ishtar depending where you buy it. Also just how much can it chew on?

I can fly an ishtar in 8 days waiting on electronic upgrades. As far as supporting skill I have them and drones. The only t2 guns I am able to use are projectiles as I like them. No missle skills. No t2 analyzer mods.


Can someone give me some ideas as to what ships would be capable of this? Rigs can't be swapped on mtu correct? So rigging ishtar for scanning just to destroy to rerig for combat is ineffective....

What sites would the ideal ship be capable of and how fast to complete it? Angels sanctum?

Please share no trolls and no you should train t2 analyzer modules. I know this I have a skill plan and am sticking to it. They are at the end of that plan

you'd definitely lose out on relic site ability with the ishtar.

A stratios can definitely run nullsec combat sites but it kind of needs high skills and a good fit. Maybe if you're running vs easy rats you can do the gurista 6/10. How good are your drone skills? do you have access to t2 heavies or t2 sentries? Do you have gallente cruiser 5? What rats are you facing? (gurista 6/10 is probably the most valuable nullsec site and one of the easier ones for a stratios to do). Stratios can also probably do any 7/10.

If you want to do relics and combat sites, I might suggest trying out lowsec, perhaps in the amarrian regions.

I tried lowsec. I find null to be more profitable. I'm unable to check skills but I have like 5.5 in drones I believe.
T2 heavy yes only t1 sentries. I think maybe a few days for 2's. I run around in nullsec no specific place. Yesterday day I was in great wildlands etheruim rich and germinate. So rats very. Which sites are the 6/7-10 and yes gallente cruiser 5

The lowsec combat sites are generally easier and have nice cruiser loot. But yes the relic rewards are better in null. If you have t2 heavy drones, you can probably work up some fit with sufficient tank and dps to do several nullsec sites, but you'll need to do your research and be careful.

So stratios is really the only viable option to do both combat and relic data?

I haven't flown it yet but as far as aligning warping cloak etc does it perform near the same as astero as far as the oh crap gate camp moments.

no, t3's are viable and often better. But they're just as expensive, and do run into cargospace issues (fittings, subsystems, mobile depot, ammo). They're also quite tanky. Could solve the cargo issue with a drone proteus, however.

I can do proteus my only severe issue is the 1b price tag at least.
It doesn't even compare to stratios at 300-400m

1bn will get you a very nicely fit proteus. You certainly don't have to pay that much.

I am going over a fitting on proteus on my phone atm. Could you reccomend a fit that would satisfy my req? For maybe not 1b lol that's a bit much to risk in nullsec

T3s are dirt cheap these days. You can get a T3 hull with all 5 subsystems for like ~250M. And if you just tank rat specific damage you don't really need any fancy modules. Another T3 advantage over Ishtar is that you can easily refit for gate camps.

Also check out this thread if you haven't already. Might be useful to you (Ishtar fit and lots of useful tips for ninja plexing).
